its kinda like when's the best time to buy a new computer? you'd could always wait, and something better and faster is going to come out... but at a price.
it was wise to pay off your debts, so you've obviously got a good head on your shoulders.
i say, wait till the summer of '04, and see what's coming out, or rumored to be. worst case, you get the VIII at a really good price, and with a production date that's AFTER all this recall nonsense.

gotta agree w/ fireball, no matter how long you wait something better is always going to come out. Just buy it when you can...if you are going to wait to see what the next year's model is going to have, you will be waiting forever.
Buy, drive hard, have fun!!

The all motor mods I had in it were the reason why I could ask so much for it. It was kinda tough at first cuz I had to deal with a lot of low-ballers and flakes, I held out and the right buyer came along. He paid me what I wanted and he is now enjoying the car.
In addition the new owner of my GSR and i keep in touch and I know my car went to a good home....

get the credit card debt out of the way first. that way after you buy the car, you can use the credit card to mod the newly bought car.

I was thinking the same exact thing. This time around I will be much more careful about my credit card spending habits. I will not let it get close to $20K again ever.
I figure when I get the EVO I will put no more than $5000 in mods to it, while allocating most of the money towards engine mods, and the rest going to suspension mods.
If you could wait for the right time, then wait. Those Evo's aren't going anywhere once they arrive in US. Credit debt should be put away first so in the future, you got good credit and you could finance an Evo for a lower apr.
Evo's dont' need mods... They just need excercise and new shoes as fast as you can enjoy them out... errrr wear them out. as well as any other wearable items, brake pads, clutches, oil, brake fluid, etc. That'll give you plenty to spend money on. Or you can enjoy your purchase as it collects dust and debris down the highway on the daily commute. It's a car that certainly shows its true character on the open wild twisty bits of closed circuits!
