Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
I know you can get under MSRP now. If you dont know who to go to, just pm me and i'll give you a small list of dealers I KNOW are selling for MSRP or under. And if a salesman pulls the "limited production" crud to justify a mark-up , laugh and walk out.

yes please don't spend a dime over msrp. These dealers still think they can mark up these cars thousands of dollars. I am 100% confident you will be able to pay less then msrp with the right hagglin technique.
If they say the evo is limited production say so is your money!

I own both the M3 and EVO and here's what I have to say.
The M3 is a great compromise among handling, speed, comfort and class. But one can argue that the M3 fails in all areas. It's not as fast as a Camaro SS, it can't handle as good as the EVO, it's not as comfortable as a Lexus, and finally, it doesn't have the class that a Benz does. But I feel that it excels in all the categories and I love it. I just drove my M3 yesterday for the first time after driving all EVO for two weeks. Boy did I miss the smooth powerband and comfort and nice interior. Although it can hold its own through a corner, it will not touch the EVO.
As for the EVO. Man oh man oh man! Although it is a 4-door sedan, I will never have this much fun in my M3. I love sports cars and I always put handling before hp numbers (although I will not drive an EVO with 10hp). And I just love taking fast corners. If you look at just power and handling here is how I would rate the two cars:
Car Power Handling
M3 7 8
EVO 6 9
But let's face it guys, the EVO will never be the chick magnet the M3 is. Although the M3 is not your best bang for the buck in terms of attracting chicks. Because you'd probably get more attention in a convertible z3/4 than I would in my m3 (most chicks don't even know wtf it is yet). Anyways, I just bought an EVO despite already having a great car. So this tells you guys how badass I think the EVO is.

Picking up my EVO in Two weeks, I have some questions.
Hey all.
I got just the best Deal from a Dealer in (TN) Alcoa Mitsubishi (Thanks Will Locklear
). So I will be driving down with my WRX to trade it in for my new Tarmac Black EVO/WING/No Roof. I’m coming from NJ. About 12 hour ride if I’m very lucky.
Here are my questions??
Paint quality?
Any weird noises that I should not pay attention to? Or vise versa ??
I read about the springs being chocked for delivery and sometimes not removed can I see if they were or were not with out lifting the car???
What kind of mileage are you guys seeing?? (highway during brake in)?
Anything that you guys/gals wished you did when you picked it up?? (ie Clear bra, Test Drive, or what ever you can think of)
I will write up all of my impressions after taking delivery about the car and the dealership. (But so fare Will Locklear and Dave Fisher have bin great to work with).
By the by the deal is for 500 over invoice. If someone wants one at this great price just PM me or email and you can hitch a ride down with me. Just take turns driving.
(technicalrecruiter123@yahoo.com)
They should have at least 5 to 6 left in stock.

Test drive the car and make sure the car doesn't pull like a car with an off-alignment would. Most come off-aligned from factory.
Check the engine oil dipstick and make sure the oil isn't overfilled. It should not be above the mark at all.
Drive and go to 3rd gear, rev to 4000rpms and then let off the gas. If there's some strange irregular noise, ask them to check it out (decceleration noise).
If they don't do anything, which they probably won't, negotiate some wheel locks or anything else in.

Good stuff...
Keep them coming!!
Just buy it, drive the **** out of it, and never look back! Thats what most of us have/are doing now =)
The car is made to take a beating, but make sure you also follow the breakin procedure. Keep it below 5000 for the first 600 miles. Make sure to modulate your throttle too. I broke mine in going up some twisties/canyon runs. I put varying degrees of load on the engine, and now with 4000 miles on it, it runs strong as anything!
Also, (some may disagree with me) change your oil after the 600 mile breakin. Then again at 1000. Each time the oil will be black as night. I've done this with my EVO, and it barely eats ANY oil. I think changing the oil after the breakin is crucial. At LEAST change the filter for christ sake. You may even want to drain the oil out as soon as you get the car and put some dino oil in for the first 1000, then switch back to synthetic. Shiv, from Vishnu, says his cars gained 10whp by doing this and the cars dont eat ANY oil.

Spring chocks = just test drive it, if the ride is extremely harsh then they might of forgoten to take them out, or u could just look
