Oh oops! This is my first brand new car, so Im not use to the terminology. I was thinking of going with state farm or allstate for insurance. Is geico a good insurance company? I always had liability and never full coverage.

I got the lowest quote with Geico. If you're gonna finance the car, all insurance companies require you have full coverage. Geico's well known, but I haven't had to use their services before, and I hope not, hehe. Get some online quotes from all the companies, and make sure you type in your social security number, because there's such a big difference (at least for me). It will not hurt your credit score at all either. If you plan on modding the car, or thinking about getting a warranty, I'd go with Geico.

I use Erie Insurance in upstate NY and I only pay about $65 a month with my Subaru and thats with a ticket. Of course I'm past 25 and married. I'm going to have to contact a dealer about just trying to order a car and see what they say. Then contact Mitsubishi directly and ask. Too bad the US requires you to go through a dealership to order a car. If I can't order it or get it for under MSRP then I'll not be buying one for a while. I've already heard of at least one popping up at a used lot. Must have been the insurance that got the owner.

If you're asking for tips on how to negotiate a good deal, talk only with the sales or fleet manager. They're more concerned with the quantity of cars sold:

yeah i definately think im gonna shop around but the more i hear the first dealer i talked to sounds pretty cool 31-32K out the door is definately below MSRP w/ wing and sunroof especially taking into account the 8.5% tax in my county. now i just have to figure out insurance. soon to be 23 year old single male. the worst group to be in!!! were thinking we may be able to put the car on my parents insurance and just make me the primary driver or make one of them the primary driver, whatever is cheaper. insurance sucks, we should get that money back at the end of the year if nothing happens!!! wishful thinking.

I'm a 21yr old male in a big city. I pay $125/month with Geico on my own policy, full coverage, with added mechanical breakdown coverage (which only Geico offers), and higher than normal coverage limits. If you're gonna put the car under your parent's policy, you must have it titled under them to get the benefit of a better rate, or else it wouldn't make a difference if you got your own policy or not.

But then again, I took the 6hr defensive driving course for 10% off, I have good grades, I have a clean driving record, and I also have a really high credit score (759/800).

Don't worry about insurance too much, since all companies classify the Evo as an OZ Rally. But I made sure with Geico, that I wouldn't run into problems down the road with that. No one has the Evo in their database . Consider us lucky!

wow thoe99 $125 a month not bad. my friend with a WRX is on his own policy and pays well over 200 a month. i think its like 2200 a year for him or something. ill have to look into geico. i think im also eligible for a discount through our insurance agent as i am a college graduate and in law enforcement. if it doesnt work out though im gonna have to look into another agency. also i was unaware that they classify the evo as an OZ. that is a bit odd, but really great. its classified as a 15K 4-cylinder car as opposed to a turbo sports car. another benefit of the 4 cyl as opposed to and 8.

Well...if you can actually pull off 200 over invoice, with destination for a car with 5-15 miles on it....Congratulations dude.

You must have some good connections. Is the dealer overstocked with EVO's possibly? If not...their actually taking a profit hit and loosing a chance to market another EVO on the lot for selling it to you at that price. I would be greatful.

yeah thats not bad. it has been determined that MSRP with wing and sunroof is 30,812 or something, so sounds like youre about 500 under MSRP. i think thats waht about mine is, cause out the door it was about 31,800. that includes everything, tax, title, registration and all that. both good deals. good luck.

Dude, jump on it. You're not going to find much cheaper than that. Eh ... I paid over $35K out the door when it first came out, so I'd jump on it when one is avail.

Mine with sunroof and spoiler was $29200, before TT&L, so it really could be had better.
