Well dude, you just answered your own question with this statement.. The car does all that with ease.. And since you are interested in tuning cars, this is one unbelievable vehicle to do it with! You can make it an 11 sec, daily driven, street tires, pump gas, turn carving, mean machine.. Sure the NEW cobra has a lot of ***** to go straight, but that's it.. Can't really turn that well, while flooring it out of a curve.. And god forbid it gets slightly wet out, then you can't even drive it.. I used to have 5.0's in the past.. I hate that loose *** on all those stangs.. Nothing can compare to this car, in my opinion... Dyno numbers? There are guys on here already with 400+ hp to all 4 wheels!! That's serious power!!

 

get a saleen, if you're getting a cobra....

 

get an evo, if you're getting a lancer....

 

get a ferarri if your gonna get a .... (damit i've got nothing)

 

get an sti, if you're getting a wrx....

 

Get a Z06 if you're gonna get a corvette!

 

get a mini, if you're getting a cooper....

I presently have a 99 Cobra, from which I have derived much joy. This was the first Mustang with an IRS and it was touted as a road car. It's a good road car, but not a great one. Since road racing, but not being a street light warrior is what rings my bell, I will be getting an EVO. The Mustangs in general and the 03 Cobra in particular are great cars for the drag strip, but it's time for me to move on to something that is designed for the twisties and not the drags.

 

Well, the Cobra goes like stink. Straight line ability is much better than the EVO in stock form, and does amazing times in a track. The magazine guys said that although it went very fast in the tracK, they did not like the "feel".....

If you want cheaper insurance and better gas mileage, you might actually be better off with the Mustang or it will be a wash...

Styling is a personal thing and both cars look very nice to me (I'm sure others think differently).
Yes, the EVO does seat 4 people comfortably and it is very cool to have

I prefer the EVO, but there again, I've got one..... Personally, I think you get a lot of car for the money with the EVO. It's several $K less expensive than the Cobra even if you get MSRP with both cars. They are very different cars and made for very different purposes... I guess you've just gotta decide what's the most important thing to you... For me, the AWD, turbo charged, great handling "and" cool factor makes the EVO the right choice.
