The tranny is weak on the WRX compared to the EVO 8. The STI should be up to par with the EVO 8 tranny but a regular WRX thats its weakest link...

I bought my son a 2k1 Sentra with 32K miles the other day (he totalled is other car..) I paid $8.2K for it out-the-door... Sure it's used but I paid less than half of what you did for the same car!!! Still under factory warranty.... Did you get "took" too?

All this stuff about 24-hour, or 3-day or whatever return periods for cars is bunk. Dealerships couldn't stay in business for a simple reason; everyone gets buyers remourse.

If you signed a contract without reading it and have taken delivery of the product, well...

Went to the dealer today

Welp...went to the the dealer today to check out the EVO. I was ready to trade in my beloved turbo charged spyder with all the goodies! you know what those bastards wanted...43K willing to go down to 36k just because a boeing worker had it on reserve but he wasnt " here right now" F that man. the car was excellent! Absolutely beautiful..i wanted it but I refuse to pay that price..it' s absurd. Guess I am stuck with a what do I say my reason is for trading (my excuse to my wife why I need it: I have a one wheel charlie, same version engine but my cars sucks the big one but but not really ) how much did you guys pay to get this beast....I want it sooooo bad! Give me some ammo guys.....going in this weekend to talk them down more. MSRP is a little over 28 .I will pay not a penny more than 32k. Am I being unreasonable? Give me some prices you guys paid. thanks for all the help!

I broke down and paid 32... Like 32,200... Oh well... I was gonna wait longer, but the wife wanted me to get the G35 sedan... So I said, nope, gimme the EVO... My advice to anybody that is stern on waiting... DO NOT GO LOOK AT THEM... Once you see it, you're hooked... God help you if you test drive one...

Bwahaha. That's probably the best advice I've seen on here. I had a silver on order when a black arrived first. I test drove the black and signed the papers a few minutes later. :-)

Seriously, do not pay that crazy price. You're not being at all unreasonable. Just walk away, but show serious interest. I bet they call back.

Buy one off e-bay. There have been several delares selling them at or below MSRP for a coupel weeks now.

Here is one going for less than full retail:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6355

I have no affiliation, or knowledge of this dealer just pointing it out.

I'll sell you mine for $35k delivered and then go buy another new one for $28,505.

Just kidding about selling you mine but seriously, don't pay anything that is insanely inflated. Search the internet for dealers selling them at or below MSRP. There are several of them and not just on the east coast. Check the thread on this forum.

Even if it takes a one-way plane ticket to get to where you need to go to pick it up it would still be cheaper than what the stealership that you went to is trying to get.

Good luck.

Don't pay any more than the msrp. It is not you but the dealer who is unreasonable. The trick is not to show to dealer your eagerness to buy, but show your willingness to wait for the car. When I bought mine they said nothing less that $5k over the msrp would do. I said call me when you changed your mind and left. They call me on my cell 15 minutes later and we had a deal. That was 6 weeks ago and the car was still relatively new then.

There are a lot of factors at work here.

New car sales are absolutely dismal right now. This is affecting everything, even the Evolution. I'm convinced that if the Evo had been introduced a year ago customers would have been tripping over themselves to pay $5k over. The market for the Evolution isn't very big though and even a lot of those folks are not in a position to get the car with the way the economy is today. So, demand for the car in some markets is probably a bit less than it should be. This combined with dealers getting desperate to make a deal, any deal means that big markups should be steadily rolling back, though substantial discounts below MSRP are still not likely except in rare instances IMHO.

Well if u dont mind finding your way to minneosta
most dealer here is selling for msrp
i got mine for 200 under msrp .
But then they rape me with a 1600$ on the Pitpass
but tnx to the members here i found out that msrp for the pitpass contract is only 679$. and that u can cancel the contract under 60 day. I dont think the dealers them self understand the contract to well. So i took the contract to the dealer and demanded to cancel my contract, then the dealer conter offer and wanted me to buy the contract at 679 bucks then return my 1000$ . So in all i got my car for 200$ under.
To anyone who own a EVO and payed over 679% for the pitpass
You can cancel your contract, and the dealer have to pay u back,Shuold read your contract more carfully guys...
