Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
Everything they said is true... But for an honest response from me, I would have to say the fact that the EVO doesn't come with cruise control is the only thing that bothers me.... But that is something that I can look aside from... The vehicle is incredible.. No other way to describe it other than completely AWESOME...

That said, there are always things we'd like change. The torque between 3k and 4k is sweet, but above that the power sucks. I really wish Mitsu would just hold 19psi to redline. Should be easy to fix.
I don't like how ratty the engine sounds above 5K. But that may be something specific to my car because I rode in another EVO this weekend (the only other one I've been in) and didn't get the same impression from it. I heard the "ratty" sound once or twice in his, but it's VERY present in mine.
People claim the ride is harsh, but coming from a DSM with messed up suspension, this thing feels like butter to me. I guess if you're used to having all the bumps and noise smoothed out for you, then the EVO might be a little rough around the edges. But you won't care either way as soon as you turn that steering wheel down a good windy road.

if you're ever in orlando, i'd be glad to meet up and show you the car...
honestly, the only thing i don't like is the fact that there is only a single din for your stereo!!!
asides from that... i feel in love when i first touched her... and never regretted it a bit

I'll live but,
No Cruise control.
Crappy radio and speakers.
No auto climate control.
No outside temp.
No auto dim mirrors.
I have no problems but some have small rattle from passenger side?
Lower door jam might be scruffed up by other people's shoes.
This was from coming from a Ex bimmer owner but the handling will forget all.
Great handling car. You will love it

It wears me out because all I want to do is drive it.
Seriously though. Lack of cruise control could be a pain. I don't miss it now, because I just got through the break in, but would on a road trip. There are some interior noises (but I am coming from a 98 Camaro SS where the build quality was, ahem, less than stellar) that I have noticed but don't bother me much.
All in all, a superb machine. The fun-meter is just PEGGED any time you want it to be.

guys - about the cruise control - your dealer or any decent car audio place should be able to install a unit for under $300 that is as good as factory. In fact, the place I getting mine done uses the same part as the factory Mitsubishi CC in other cars like the Eclipse & US Lancer.
Well I'm going to Tower Shops in Davie tonight.. If you go there we can talk... I am usually parked over with the Subaru's.. "Rally Section" I guess is what you would call it.... Just look for the yellow EVO with limo tints on it... I should be standing nearby...

well to be honest if I had to make the decision of which to buy S2000 or EVO I know which one i'd pick. The problem for me is that the S2000 is on a lease and i'm gonna have to pull alot of strings and such to get out of it without taking a huge hit. Is it worth it???
To be perfectly honest, ever since the EVO came out i've been trying to find negative things about it. One of my best friends makes fun of me for it, saying the EVO will haunt you until you get it. First it began with the looks(oh its an ugly box compared to my s2000), but after driving one I got out, and looked at a red one on the lot and was like staring at it for 15 minutes from every angle possible. So I now actually love the way the car looks. Next it was the shifter....nowhere near as smooth or short as the S2000. Upon driving it more I realized that the shifter felt like I was really shifting the drivetrain, and I started to love how you have to PUT IT in its place. The driver must tell this car exactly what to do, and I began to love it even more. The list continues.....I've seriously been TRYING to find reasons NOT to make this greuling trade, but i'm running out of reasons not too. Can this car really be that good?

The worst thing is...
It has distracted me from my girlfriend and my job.(not good)
No cruise control
No outside temperature
OK I am stretching to find something else
Oh yeah like every car made, not enough power
