Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
Wait and get what you want. You may regret it later when you see another WW drive by. I waited almost 7 weeks for my BBY, and I was tempted several times by cars available "now" but in a different color. I'm really glad I waited.
Black looks the nicest no matter what, when it's clean. White on the other hand looks clean even if you've driven through a dust storm. Black is hot in the summer. It's your decision. Great looks with a car wash every month. Or good looks and save a couple bucks a month.
I like black myself.
I like black myself.
I like black much better than white, but black will show everything. The paint on the Evo is not the greatest. I would still go with black and make sure when it's time to put a nice coat of wax on.
The Black is a trick,,,,,, it only looks good clean. My past 3 cars have been Black and when I went to the dealer to pick mine up they had black and white evo's. I pulled up in my dirty Balck truck.......took one look at the black and walk straight over to the white..... AND NEVER LOOKED BACK!!!!!!
I dont think I would ever own a black car,,,,, just reminds me of all the Years,,,,,(10) that I had to walk out to my filthy black cars.
Wait for the white

If you really like white....wait. You'll be glad you did. Cause in the grand scheme of things, waiting another 3 weeks is almost nothing if as a result you get your 1st choice color.

I can't speak for any other states, but for Missouri, you basically pay tax on the difference of value between the new car and your trade in value.
BTW- It basically has nothing to do with what you owe on the car, as you paid the full tax bogey on the previous car even though you financed it.
Missouri law also allows you to use a notarized bill of sale if you opt to sell your other car outright as opposed to trading it in. This notorized bill of sale can be provided when you do your license papaerwork on the new car, or can be turned in for credit within a period of a year in arears I believe. If you sell multiple cars multiple bills of sale can be used for more tax credit.
A lot of people think that the only way to get a tax credit is by trade-in and many people leave a lot of money on the table. Obviously the state doesn't go out of its way to educate people about this for good reason.
I have done this many times, and recently saved myself $1200 in tax costs when I provided my notorized bill of sale for the GTI337 I had recently sold.Make the laws work for you when you can!!

STi seems like it will last monger to me. I love the Evo in everyway shape and form, but the STi would be a better car to look at. I'd personally get a WRX save myself some money and still have the potential to compete in the game sould I choose, but not have to deal w/ all the crap from Rustang and Camaros trying to race you. Also a car that I would get over both the Evo and the STi and the only European car I would own: Audi S4. you have AWD and if you get one a year or two old you'll have a 6 cylinder Twin turbo AWD. BADASS CARS!!! And I don't even liek Euros. Just check it out, I has everything you are looking for w/o looking like an old guy in a sports car going through midlife crisis. You are just a badass, in a classy car that will rock the Vette!!!
Re: STI v. Evo- need to decide in the next 10 days
I've driven both the STi and the EVO on dirt roads, mountain passes, freeways and traffic, though I don't own either one so I don't need to defend my position to protect my own interest. Oh, and I review cars for a living. I happened to stumble into this forum.
Given how you plan to use the car I can say the STi is the obvious choice. The EVO's twitchy nature (I'm not saying this is bad, just not for everyone) it may not suit your daily driving goals. And it sounds like you will appreciate the STi's *noticable* power advantage over the EVO.
Cheers,

Both perform extremely well. Get whichever one you think looks better and you'll have a more fun time driving. The Evo is very nice looking, the STI looks gay.
Maybe also the gas mileage? Not sure what either one gets....
