Not quite 500 under, but under nonetheless;

Base Invoice 27,486.47 (includes shipping)
Sunroof 653.00
High Wing 418.00

total invoice 28,557.47

Yeah, it's still a damn good deal. It appears the dealerships are bending over backwards trying to get rid of these cars right now. A lot are showing up on Ebay!

I have a feeling, Mitsubishi is going to adjust their amount of EVO's shipped to the USA, perhaps drop them to 1500-2000. I would welcome that change, hence making the care more rare than it already is.

I was qouted same deal.. in Orlando Florida.. it was 2500 off MSRP.. which made it around $500 under invoice.. dealer then added a $499 dealer fee to deal which = invoice on car.. dealer would still make his hold back..I still have not bought it as I have 6 vehicles now and would like to sell 1 or 2 out right as dealer will only give you black book on your trade here in Florida.. as I used to wholesale cars black book is a lot lower than NADA & Kelly which are for consumers only.. or a dealer may get out Kelly if he is trying to sale you a used car..

don't pay that much. the market adjustment fee has become the market adjustment rebate. they will make a profit if they sell to you for 25k because a lot of buyers were paying 40k.

BeenWaiting,
I will let you know when I close a deal. I was able to get one dealer down to $1,000 under invoice !!!!! Great deal, but had to close by Saturday. The other dealer (the closer one) said he would match the price, so I get there about 40 min till close they make me wait till 6:00pm close and then tell me they can't do the 1,000 under, the other dealer must have been talking $1,000 over invoice. I say no and pull out the email stating the price. Sales manager says he can't match. This is after over the phone and in person he said he would. What a bunch of scum bags. Well I just told them forget it. They stalled me till close so I could not make the purchase from the other dealer. I will make sure everybody will know about them and the way they do business. Anyway I any still looking. Most dealers are scum bags. That is all.

--Just curious... are you trading your car in? If so, the "$1000 under invoice" may be balanced by less money for your trade-in. I would suspect the deal isn't as good as it sounds.

Tiak,

No trade in. I know the car business well, spent 12 years in it.

EVO Owners honest, no bull**** opinion....

well,

i'm saving my pennies and am trying to purchase the evo. i don't make much money, so i'm really stretching my means when i finally get one. because 30k is A LOT for me, i want to know, IS IT WORTH IT? would i regret it?

i've been cruising your board here for a while (great board by the way) and there seem to be a LOT of complaints about the car... the clutch of course is probably the most visual complaint; well that and the warranty.

since i'm still putting myself through school and whatnot, i dont' want to make a mistake in my purchase. i debated for months and months before deciding on the evo. i was considering such cars as the rx8 (beautiful, but too middle-aged mid life crisis for me... and rear wheel drive would mean parking it in the winter) a lower end 350z (too bulky looking) a used wrx (i don't like the new body styles)... rsx-s that i'd have to hook up... or just finish work on my civic... but i'm tired of my small *** honda... and the rsx didn't impress me on the test drive.

anyway, DESPITE all the complaints i've read, should i still get an evo? keep in mind this is my first major purchase in my life... i dont' want to start out on the wrong foot.

It depends on what you want out of the car. If your buying it for the overall driving experience the EVO is your car. If your buying horsepower and are more drag race oriented you ought to look at an SRT4 because it is $10K cheaper and just about equally fast in stock mode.

Don't overanalyze yourself. Get it and be prepared to move on if it turns out you don't like it. Its just a car.

I love my EVO, I can beat z06's now The handling is amazing and so much room as far as modding goes, I'm doing a stroker kit soon.

I was going to say the exact same thing Dale_K did. It's just a car, and it sounds like you've already decided you can't really afford it - the monthly payments, the insurance, the downtime if it happens, etc. It is only a car, and every couple years something new and hot comes out. Your time will come when you're more confident in the financial situation - then you can make your move without regret.
