I'm not some little kid with an evo, i saved up money since i was 17 for a car, and my friend SkylineRacer is who turned me onto the Evo. My mother told me I didn't need a fast car (she's right) so she wouldn;t buy a car like that for me. The last thing my mother has bought me has been dinner when i was 18. Also, i own part of the business so yeah technically it is in my name. Since i was a little kid i have known to be more responsible than most "adults"

I am not arguing that i wasn't at fault that the car got Towed, I didn;t realize that the reg expired and i never renewed. Its not my mothers job to renew the registration on my car, and you can clearly see that she didn;t do so.
But what i am upset about is that the Tow truck driver was informed by me that he shouldn't be towing the vehicle in that manner and he continued anyway.

I figured posting here and sharing my story with other people who actually care about cars would help ease the pain and aggravation but have some punk call me an immature brat is just as frustrating having my car impounded. Get a life dude and stop jerking off to photograph of car engines.

I have my bills under my name. I do not need mommy to help me get things cheaper. If I cannot afford them myself under my name I do not get them.

You are getting all upset and throwing your tantrum because you are a spoiled brat who could not have the car without your mommy helping you. The simple fact is if you did not need mommy this thread would not be here assuming you are not lying about not knowing the registration was expired. You would have gotten the notice yourself and you could have paid it yourself.

If you cannot afford the insurance you should not have the car plain and simple. Want to keep people like me from telling you the truth and not have you car impounded again? Get it all under your name. Man up and take care of your own stuff, without mommy doing it.

If it is not under your name you are not paying for it, because you are not getting everything at the price it should be.

Spoiled kids get what they want. You got the car you want under your moms name because you could not afford it. Shoe fits.

Really guys? Evo M is for getting information and helping fellow evo owners out. It is not for throwing rocks back and forth at each other, so can both of you just let it go? Or if you continue to insist on antagonizing each other, do it on PM's so the rest of us don't have to read it. I think its time for mods to close this thread.

It is a thread he started about his car being impounded because it is not in his name and the tags were expired. What is there really to learn from this aside from getting the car in your name so that this stuff does not happen.

If you do not want to read opinion then don't read stupid threads. If this were about something other than normal stupidity I would agree.

So by your logic.....you should pay the maximum amount that insurance companies want without taking advantage of other options available to you. If the business is partially under his name he has the right to have it under the business for insurance purposes. I don't see anything wrong with that. Thats like......oh ok. Ill pay whatever the dealer wants without negotiating the best price.

Insurance companies are out there to make money. They don't care about us. Just by your age and gender you automatically pay a higher premium regardless of your driving record.

Mind you. It is his fault for not keeping up to date with his registration.

OP never said his name was on the business, only mentioned his mother. He said they put it under the business because it was cheaper, that means he cannot do it himself.

I have no problem looking for cheaper ins. or cheaper ways to get ins. as long as it is in the drivers name. The car and ins are in the mothers name through the business meaning he cannot do it himself. If that car is too much for him to do he should not have it. Get a beater until you can afford a certain car on your own.

All this sense of entitlement cfrap is why things are screwed up now.

Again if he can pay all the cost on his own under his name great if not the the shoe fits. It is called growing up and being an adult. Adults carry things under their name and make the payments. Spoiled kids do it under someone elses name to get it cheaper or the have someone else pay all together.

wow this got out of hand real fast.

glad you got your car back. sucks about the scratches and missing stuff, those they are liable for if you have proof it was in the car. glad to hear your t-case is ok.

ignore the neg comments about insurance. sure if you can save money one way do it.

If you're car's TC is damaged the tow company is held liable period; I used to work for toyota, and a lot of tow drivers dodn't know that some matrix's comes AWD and towed them the wrong way. Some insurance guy would inspect the car and the tow company always ended up paying for the bill, because if it goes to court, it is easy to prove the damage they had done; just keep track of the tow bill and all other paperwork.

Raistlin - U mad bro?? You want somebody to come help you lower your insurance rates?? You assumed that he isnt paying for anything just because the insurance is under his mother's business. He also stated he was part owner of said business and his mother didnt even want him to get the car so he got it himself.

I'm curious what you have to do to make your insurance company think you're guaranteed to kill someone regularly and charge you $18k/year, lol.

Yeah haha. I had to go back and read that again. $18k/year seems a little crazy. More than the cost of the car car per year?

I was in Newark, NJ once and my company van was parked in front of a hydrant. When I walked up to the van I saw someone sitting in the drivers seat, and a cop standing outside with the door open. I yelled at the cop saying that guys stealing the van,, arrest him fast.
The guy in the drivers seat was the cops supervisor. I'm like arrest him for breaking and entering!!!
They ended up towing the van because I didn't respect him for sitting in my van.
Another tow story, with loss from my part.
