hey was up everybody. i had wanted to know what all do i need to put my license plate in the front of my car like on the bumper like this.

 

in the first pic looks like oem placement and an oem front plate bracket. Are you asking where to make the holes on your front bumper?

None are nearly as safe when considering all possible scenarios. Some guys have just used double-sided tape (so they don't have to drill holes), but sometimes it looks odd as if it's floating, and while it seems to be a decent solution that is pretty sturdy, it could still come off pretty easily. A ten year-old kid can probably rip it off without much struggle.

My opinion is that if you're going to put the plate on, just put it on right.

 

I remember putting my plate on and pausing for a few seconds and saying I can't believe I'm about to drill two holes in my brand new car. But it has to be done there really is no other option except getting tickets.

I was gonna do it and then said f it I'll let the dealer do it if they screw up it's on them to fix it

 

I use earth magnets to hold my front plate on. That way I can remove it when I want and there is no holes drilled. I epoxy'd three earth magents to the backside of the bumper, then used 3m doubles sided tape to attach the magnets to the plate. It holds pretty damn strong. I have driven the car maybe 400 miles or so with the plate on and it never fell off.

Something weird happened yesterday on the way home from MOD though. I was on the interstate doing 70, as I came into a small town there was a stoplight. I slowed down for the red light and as I stopped, the plate just fell off lol. WTF??

So I am gonna add a few more magnets to it so its solid.

 

You can get aftermarket kits which allow you to mount the plate on the front bumper without drilling into the front face. You drill into it on the bottom side and the bracket comes out and up.

I was looking into doing this myself, but I already have the stock holes drilled into my bumper.

 

I did this and it only cost me about $10 and one trip to the hardware store.
I'm sure it blocks airflow to something but I don't care.

 

At that point, you should just install the regular bracket, especially if you don't swap the plate on and off all the time.

 

any one else have anyides on mounting a plate with out drillng holes in the bumper?
