If it ****s on the dyno, it ****s on the dyno. That's a part of playing with cars, stuff is going to break. Atleast that's how I have learned to look at it, I don't get as upset when something gives. I'm going to be looking at around 550whp once I get the stock LICP and stock exhaust manifold swapped out for the one I have being made. I know I'm pushing the limits of about everything in the car at that point (ignition, transfer case, transmission, motor - everything that costs the big bucks... haha)

read my long rant and you'll see i don't disagree with you.. just because your car can do it doesn't mean its safe to assume all others can tho.

ive got a lot of cars in your power range tq wise running fine.

at the end of the day tho, you're on borrowed time.. the rods were not designed to withstand that kind of torque.. these engines were overly built.. pretty much why the 4g63 has such a strong reputation.

Yeah while this is true there are some of us who like to actually drive the cars and not just have them sit in pieces in the garage hahaha.

I to made over 400tq on a stock block but I also didn't beat the hell out of it. Most abuse was at the track. Its my dd and made sure it stayed together. Every time I floored it I was scared of something letting go though

As others have said, get a remote tune from Tom at TSCOMP TUNED:

Tom does a great job with his tunes. He can set the torque pretty much anywhere you want it to help protect the stock block.

I don't make much money either... its about saving. Military doesn't pay a whole lot.

Here in sweden we dont run more the 380 Torque on stock rods , to be shure not to break them
Its djust as crusedsm say, you will pop a rod if you run mutch torque on low revs , becuse you are helvely pusting the engine on low revs , if you have a laggy turbo u that spools lather the engine is alredy on the move , but that does still not make it safe , you will pop a rod att anytime , only all you may need i a bad missfire ,

I would never gamble on my engine i know how expensive a built motor is ,
its just stupid pushing the engine and pop a rod , bacause then you will stand there somewear on the middle of the road whit a blown enginge , and you will have a big hole in your wallet afterwards
I dont even wanna think what a new emty block , kosts and a new crank , and rods and pistons ,
that would be a nightmare ,

I have a personal rule , fore my self , I always make shure that I have some amount of money , in my wallet as the price that i bouth my car fore ,

Never push if you cant afford a rod to pop
