I was just pre approved at the University of Utah credit union for a 25,000 dollar loan. I told them it was for a 2003 Evo. 3.99 % for 66 months. I just started looking for a Used Evo and wanted to get locked into a good rate.

I'm in the same boat with all the others who could care less about trade in value. I wanted this car and I'm going to keep this car. I also could care less about the crap warranty. I bought the car so that I could have exactly what I wanted and the dealer will not dictate what I can and can't do.

Bottom line is, if you want the car it shouldn't really matter what the current resale is. Give it a year or two and I bet they become a very desired car. Gen 1 USDM Evo 8 will be something very saught after. It will just take some time. Number one Mitsu has to figure out thier financial situation and second there is too much speculation currently over future models. And even if it doesn't go up in value ever.. I got my dream car. In a few years it'll be paid off and won't matter what it's worth at all.

There will always be a market for used EVOs. You have to remember all the kiddies love this car! Once they start getting older and prices start getting in reach of the more people, people will buy them up! Now who wouldn't want a factory ready race car?? Even in stock form, these cars are a blast to drive. Everyone knows that. Just sell the car used if you don't want to get reamed on trade-in value. Remember dealers have a lot of overhead and need to make money off used cars too.

other than the "evo/rally" backgroung, the love for fast cars and AWD,,, in a way you gotta have that "punk kid/2f2f" in you. c'mon man just look at the car, it is a target for all these bugging you are talking about. its an awesome looking car. why did you buy one in the first place? be proud that people like your car.

yea w00t w00t.

trade those evos in for subarus!

Its not suprising though with mitsubishis current finacial issues...

If someone else pics up the shares, the value will probably go back up or at least be stable.

You're kidding about the reliability and quality right? This is the main reason they are almost going bankrupt

I love the EVO so I gave them a try. This is my first and last MIT. Back to hondas and toyotas for me.

Evo's buy and sell just like crotch rocket motorcycles. There is always someone dying to buy one, always someone dying to sell one. You just have to be in the right spot at the right time to get a good deal either way.

Because of this, the resale is always going to be erratic, and you will hear stories of really high prices and really low prices...just depends on what seller meets what buyer at what particular time. This was very predicible before we all bought our cars...coming on here and claiming the sky is falling is just plain stupid.

23K is good trade-in for an EVO. Remember the dealership needs to make money
