Any thoughts on this clutch, looking for something that will grab and throw it sideways any time

Interested as well. Is this kit or the ACT HDSS. I'll post something later that makes me not want it. It's an agressive clutch and a friend on mine with a X didn't launch his car for a couple months and the disc fused to the PP and did some damage to both so launch your car often lol. If you don't it will create groves in the PP, said his mechanic, and will be bad news the first time you try launching it after it not being used aggressively for so long.

Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.mazda***********.org/foru...42/index8.html Post #308 but it should take u right to that one

I've never associated a hard grabbing clutch with throwing a car sideways. I've always thought that was power, technique and a willingness to chance wrecking the car.

I had it in my 06 back in 2009. It holds the power really well and easy to launch with. My car only has an tbe, dropin air filter, and a tune and I was able to run low 12s with it. Prior to that on the stock clutch I could only muster low 13s. It really don't like stop and go traffic, seems to get harder to modulate the longer your in traffic. I only took my car to the track once with it but I launched a lot with it that night and a couple time the week following but I guess that's all it took to wear it out cause a year and 8,000 miles later and that b**** was slipping bad. Now running excedy twin and 24,000 miles later still happy.

By the way it was way easier to get the car sideways with that clutch than it is with the excedy twin at the same power level.
