Huge dent in frame rail?

I have had my car for about a year now and have never really been under the back of it. I jacked my car up today to take a look at my exhaust and prepare it so I could take out the test pipe that's installed and put in a cat and I noticed something that made me cringe....

Looks like some one tried to jack the car up from the back and missed =X

I recall seeing a thread that referenced the correct jacking points on this car and seem to remember that the same section was a little bent on that guys car too..

The metal is very thin and it can be bent easily. I tried pushing it out a bit with a screw driver and didn't have much trouble making it move and bend...but I mean is this serious damage or cosmetic for the most part? Should I be worried? I'm really scared

Also, the passenger side rear floor board is bulged up...how I never noticed this I will never know

I think the angle of the picture makes it look worse than it is. Only suggestion I have is to pull the carpet up in front of your back seats & see if it pushed up the floor board at all.

The picture definitely makes it look worse then it is, however I compared it with the other side and by comparison to a non damaged one its pretty bad...and I did pull up the carpet and it and the floor is dented upwards pretty badly.

Sorry for the newb-ness, but I'm still learning here...My main concern is the extent of the damage...probably going to sound like an idiot, but is this considered frame damage? or is the bent up floor board the only damage?

I don't really care about the floor board being all wonky, I never have people in the back seats any way...

Yes that would be considered frame damage its a unibody car and the damage is to the unibody. I've see this before on a car that went off the road and onto a rock.

Same thing the back seat passenger floor was actually pushed up. Im sure a body shop could pull it out and realign the car without much troubl

Won't fix the rail and it is by far not the best way but, if you jump up and down in that area, the floor board will straighten out. Don't go to crazy lol.

I had it aligned like a month or 2 ago. I pushed down on the area with my heel while I braced my self between the roof and the running board and it definitely helped...

I just can't see how something so crucial to the car could be made out of such thin metal...i drove the car for a long time without an alignment and it didnt pull or feel any different than after I had it aligned. honestly is this that serious? Will it affect my car?

Just found this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...loorboard.html

Also read a couple threads on some other car forums...

I think I'm just over reacting...I mean yea it sucks but like its not dangerous or anything to really worry about at all.

I'll take it to a shop eventually I guess if a hammer and some wood doesn't fix it enough. Thanks guys. Some people....ugh.

Yeah, if you had it aligned without issues I wouldn't be too worried...the picture makes it look like the car was put over a rock wall or something, but it sounds like you can just bang it out and forget about it

my frame rails also have some dents in them due to improper jacking, everyone told me it was not a problem, i dont think it matters much.

Thanks every one, you put my mind at ease. It definitely wasn't wrecked that's for sure, I can see where the jack dug into it. I'll bang it out as much as I can and forget it.
