Bought my IX in Dec 08 for $26K, it had about 24,000 miles on it.
Just checked and it's currently worth $22,773 for private party sale sweet deal
I don't ever plan on letting my car go, but it's cool to see that they hold their value very well

Bought my 2nd IX, a MR, in Oct '11 with 52K miles, stock, clean carfaq/title, for 23.5K from a subaru dealership. The caveat to that would be they gave me 13K for the 2010 elantra (I know a vag with wheels) I was trading in which was above auction & trade in at the time. The evo in my opinion was probably 8 out of 10 when I bought it. It took so long to find one that close to a 10 I jumped on it.

My friend who sells cars at a vw/audi dealership said when they get in an evo in trade they have to sell the car 4 to 5 times before they get someone with good credit and the deal goes thru. I told him I took offense to that. haha.

^ That's a testament to the demographic of buyers that shop for them these days.

Yeah, every kid wants one cause of it's reputation and looks, but it's not a kid's car. I think the only thing keeping them from getting into a bunch of teenage hands is the ridiculous insurance.

I don't know about that. I've seen a lot of younger people with really nice Evo's always complaining about being poor probably from working minimum wages jobs barely holding on to that Evo. It's that Repo8 prophecy from NCE and EE.

KBB is over-rated and not very accurate... You cannot sell these cars for what it states they are worth. Their appraisal is too high... NADA is more accurate.

Really what is accuracy? Who's right and who's wrong? Its really all a circle jerk, ideally you cross reference KBB, NADA, and black book values and get what you can. Its worth what someone pays

Makes me consider picking it up. What's the mileage and shape? PM me if you get serious about it.
