??? Don't know where you bought your gas but Texas has 93 at almost every station I have ever been too.........

You probably do this too...but here's my strategy

Hang out 5-10mph over the speed limit for a while, until someone passes you going pretty fast. In more densely populated areas it won't take long. Hop a quarter mile behind them and just cruise. It has saved me MANY tickets when the fool in front of me gets tagged! I've heard of multiple-car speedtraps, but I've never seen one.

Out west you are probably on your own, but if your buddy gets pulled over I would just meet him at the next exit =) Let him lead "since he has cruise" haha

What's with the Vrginia-California connection on this board? Its amazing how many people who have moved between both places! Anyway, its cool to hear about different places.

The connections: All of the White House interns drive an Evo and they are all from California (Conspiracy Theory). Sucking oneself to the Recaro seat seems to be the newest trend replacing another popular mode of suction .

Yeah, it is kinda interesting...I grew up on the East Coast, lived in LA (Calabasas) for a while, then moved back East in 1994 after Northridge...SoCal is pretty cool, but I'm an East Coast guy...I love it here in NOVA!

I did a trip from Missouri to Ca. It was pretty fun. Except I wish I could have expierinced most of it during the day. At night.. youll love the HID =P. Even though when I made the trip there was freak weather. Oh and another thing. Right before you pass the Ca border. MAKE SURE TO GET GAS!!! I passed the border with a quarter tank left.. It was scary as hell + it was like 2 in the morning =P. Road construction everywhere and no where to park in case gas ran out. Other than that. It was a great trip. Oh on the way past new mexico there was some dead huge brown thing on the road that I almost hit in my cousin's crv. That thing was scary and I don't know even to this day what that thing was. It had brown fur and blood everywhere and it was the size of the back of a pickup truck. I think its a bear but .. come to think of it, theres not really any bears in new mexico. Maybe it was a buffalo.. no idea. Hey keep me posted on any exotic animals!! take some pictures if u see any!! (I live in a cave and dont get out much so thats why =P)

give it a good wax job before traveling, that saves you the hassle of removing all the asphalt stain and bug debris when it is time to clean it. it worked on me when I did the long drive recently.

I will say that OKLAHOMA hi-po does not **** around at all...be careful. If you are 30 over the speedlimit and caught they have the right to put you in jail for reckless driving...and the sad part is that they DO.

But otherwise, have fun and take pics!

20 over in VA can get you put in jail also.

In OK, if you have a good radar detection, you are fairly safe. It's soo wide open and flat that I was getting radar warnings like 2 miles before I saw the cop.

I got no laser warnings at all.

rte 40 goes through Amarillo. I had a hard time finding 91 octane there....but eventually did find it. Many stations had 86-88-90 octanes. ach!

Amarillo has the Big Texan steakhouse. If you can eat the 5 pound steak in one setting you get it free. I didn't attempt it myself. It's right on 40 if I remember right. I made the trip on a motorcycle and it was 106 going through the panhandle. "Tonight in Tucumcari!"
