STM temporarily closed due to moving offices
anyone else having problems with them
iv been waiting 2 mounts for a ported intake mani. every time i call they say it will be done next week and so finally i was like okay this is getting ridiculous . don't tell me it will be done next week when its not going to be so in reply stm was like okay sorry i see that you did place the order quite some time ago, ill have my tect start on it this Saturday and we'll express ship it to you and have it to you Tuesday.. here it is Thursday and still no intake mani i cant understand why they would tell someone it will be dune next week and then i call and they say they haven't even started on it its getting to the point where im just going to ask for my money back and go somewhere else
I ordered parts from STM a few times and they let me return items at one point without charging me a restocking fee. They seem like pretty standup guys to me.
It's unfortunate that people are having issues but I would give them the benefit of the doubt with them moving to a new location.

austin posted some pictures of porting the manifolds the other day. maybe one was yours.
it really depends on the parts you order. some of them are drop shipped from the manufacturer. if you order any STM brand part it is probably made to order and will take some time. it's not like they are just sitting around doing nothing and then all of a sudden Joe Smith places an order for a turbo manifold and a catch can and Emery goes "ok lets go do this order guys!" they are busy all the time, especially now with moving.
that is not an excuse for anything that has happened. in my experience they have always been kind of slow at stuff, but anything i've ever ordered from them isnt really an "off the shelf item" so i expect it.
if they decided to use an automated email service in my opinion it would make things 1000000 times better. just a little contact makes the customer happy. even if it's just "Thank you for your order" as soon as you ordered with an itemized list. although if you call them 100% of the time they will take care of you.
whenever i order from them it's kind of like a guessing game on when i will receive something. unfortunately this has resulted in me ordering from another place for parts unless it is an STM part.

Once or twice they said sorry, I can't. This was fine, I appreciated that answer more than getting the run around for months. This happened 2-3 times so it wasn't a single occurance that was held up.
I spent $5k+ with them in a few months or so but I had to move on. I didn't want to go bash them but the scenqario above played out a few times the same exact way and this was a year ago so it wasn't moving problems.
also
also when i talked to them on the phone they didn't mention anything about moving as if i didn't know they where moving but when i placed the order they where not moving at the time or at least it wasn't posted on the web site i might call Monday and cancel my order im not pleased with the fact they said it would be done this past Saturday and that they would express ship it to me by Tuesday
I don't understand why its so hard for people to understand that a special order item takes a long time to get. It doesn't matter if its a mattress or a piece of furniture or blinds or an exhaust manifold or a catch can. If you don't want to wait then order prefab stuff. When you special order something they are making it specifically for you and you are far from the only person that they are making stuff for. When I ordered my 3" jm fab uicp it was supposed to take 2 weeks and it took 4. Oh well, I didn't whine or thread bash anyone. I just waited patiently and when it did finally come in I was just that much more excited because of the extra wait.

Well I can't argue with that, I guess that is pretty bogus but they've always been great to me and I judge people how they treat me, not other people. I'm sorry you are going through this right now.
