STM temporarily closed due to moving offices
i ordered some parts off stm website today without even noticing they are moving... hopefully they can get back on track soon as possible... stm just keep up the great work no worries!
First, Let me start by saying sorry about the wait. I have no excuse for you guys on that other than we are moving but almost done and getting caught back up really fast. The new shop offers us a much bigger stock room and we have added twice the man power and equipment we previously had. Some parts are still waiting to be built as we are still waiting on some key things to be moved over. Day by day we are getting there but not 100% operational yet.
Second, I am sorry we have not gotten to this thread or seen it for that matter. We have been extremely busy trying to take care of all of your orders so taking time out of the day to address things on the internet just makes parts take longer. In the new shop we now have 4 phone lines so people can get a hold of us. E-mail? We get about 700 a day. Its impossible to sort them out and get back to every person. We have however made it easier than ever to get a hold of us via phone. 585-226-8226.
With all of that said, If you cant call, Please feel free to PM me your info and I can look into it tomorrow morning.
Again, Sorry for the wait and we are trying to address it the best way possible. Most of us are putting in 120 hour work weeks right now and I'd rather answer your " where are my parts " e-mails with the parts at your door than taking 60 hours a week going through E-mails.

they're a company that I have never had an issue with e-mail or phone calls. they're a company I have done almost 100% of my business with. they may be very well known but they have never changed from a "small" operation doing big things. we build cars for a hobby, if you expect to order custom fabbed parts or OEM parts through a 3rd party and have them in a week you're out of your mind. most people who are complaining are either impatient, or they tore apart their daily expecting someones fabricator to stay locked in the shop until their precious catch can was finished.

I agree 100% and I have nothing against STM. After all, Evos are being pushed to the side by newer cars(mainly gtr) so any company whose still loyal to the platform deserves respect. But also telling people lies or beating around the bush( IE: they keep telling me it will be here this week, but it's been 4 weeks now) is still unacceptable. Atleast be honest. Now I'm not speaking from personal experience, just based off what people have said. I already stated they were good with my order, but it was just a radiator. I'm sure the new, bigger office while be a benefit.
You make a valid point about evos getting pushed to the side but I don't believe cars such as the GTR can provide the quantity or meat on the bone to sustain current business models. If a company were to turn it's back all together to the evo I would think it would be determined as a bad decision. I believe the fastest evos are yet to come. It's just a matter of which shop will be around to take part in it!
There's someone who just said they spent over 5k in a short period of time at STM in this thread, so my comment holds much less weight. I ordered a stock replacement radiator, got confirmation. A day later changed my mind and called to change order to a mishimoto rad and they had great customer service. Got my order changed without a hiccup. I did have to call 2 times to ask for shipping info so I knew when it would be in but I never got an email, all I was told was it would get here most likely by the end of the week. My order came exactly when they said it would so no problems.
I wouldn't want to cater to this vehicle platform either if this is how the customers that I bent over backwards to change the product being shipped after it had already shipped treated me. And I don't know about anyone else but I sure can't afford a $65k car plus the parts that would be put into it after I bought it. I'll stick with my evo, which obviously isn't that far gone with the amount of new products the vendors have been releasing in the last couple months.

As far back as I can remember I always been hearing about performance shops telling customers "next week", only to get there stuff in 6 weeks. I don't understand that business model, but its been like that since day 1. I think it seems to be more with the import performance shops, I don't recall hearing this so much with the domestic guys-- at least not back in the days.

I agree. But if a customer doesn't like that, they shouldn't have to. I just find it funny how it's ok for someone to complain in the "unresolved member" section or whatever it's called but when a big shop does something that someone doesn't like, people jump to defend them like they're sponsored lol.
