There's someone who just said they spent over 5k in a short period of time at STM in this thread, so my comment holds much less weight. I ordered a stock replacement radiator, got confirmation. A day later changed my mind and called to change order to a mishimoto rad and they had great customer service. Got my order changed without a hiccup. I did have to call 2 times to ask for shipping info so I knew when it would be in but I never got an email, all I was told was it would get here most likely by the end of the week. My order came exactly when they said it would so no problems.

When you special order something they are making it specifically for you and you are far from the only person that they are making stuff for. I just waited patiently and when it did finally come in I was just that much more excited because of the extra wait.
I hear you. I don't want to get know specifics but the issues I had were them telling me 4 weeks. When 6 weeks came they were feeding me BS. One part was done and supposedly getting anodized. When I got it it wasn't anodized.
This is just an example, I don't like to post I n these threads but when I saw people basically saying the same story as happened to me multiple times I feel the need to speak up.
I don't care if it takes longer, just don't lie about it!

I had similar experiences. Sometimes everything went smooth but a few times there were issues. Like I said in the above post, if they were truthfull I probably wouldn't have ever mentioned the times I had issues.

Unfortunately for STM, this thread will hurt their business and make people think twice. I won't even beat around the bush, I'll go to MAPerformance now before STM based off this thread.

It shouldn't exist when there's boat loads of people having trouble with a very well known company? Please don't defend a company just because

Map sent me a short runner exhaust manifold that was slightly deformed enough that I had to cut a bolt down by 30% in length just to mount the turbo to it. Let's all have a trash every company out there party and then we can all buy nothing from anyone. Sound good??

I would hardly call it "boat loads" there are more people on this thread happy with their service than unhappy. I have placed 2 orders with them since this thread was started and received both very promptly with tracking information emailed to me both times. When you do as much business as STM does you're bound to have unhappy customers. But they are not the only ones that have these problems from time to time, especially considering the large amount of problems have been with custom parts that are built to order. I recently had my transmission rebuilt by one of the three big name trans companies and I was quoted at 2 weeks to build and receive with a core they had at their shop. Well a month and a half later I finally received it. Didn't go posting a thread about the lack of service I called them once or twice a week to check on the status and was told 4 times o the end of the week. Eventually I got it and am happy with the quality of it, but that is just the nature of the beast with our cars, they're aging and the businesses that cater to them are getting swamped with business. I mean to put it in perspective fp had time delay issues on the turbos and manifolds that were eventually received as well.

Haha I like your way of thinking. I like map too anyways and despite talking a little smack I made the manifold work. Shaved a bolt down and didn't complain. I was just trying to make a point.

Yup like I said waited on the transmission for a month and a half when I was quoted 2 weeks. You think I'm going to have them refresh it again when the time comes, or sooner if these carbon synchros get approved, you betcha. And I have nothing against MAP only reason I order 95% of my stuff through STM is they ship flat rate which saves me big time on shipping over ups 2 day. They have never done wrong by me and I don't believe in being a fair weather friend which is why I'm defending them so much.

First, Let me start by saying sorry about the wait. I have no excuse for you guys on that other than we are moving but almost done and getting caught back up really fast. The new shop offers us a much bigger stock room and we have added twice the man power and equipment we previously had. Some parts are still waiting to be built as we are still waiting on some key things to be moved over. Day by day we are getting there but not 100% operational yet.

Second, I am sorry we have not gotten to this thread or seen it for that matter. We have been extremely busy trying to take care of all of your orders so taking time out of the day to address things on the internet just makes parts take longer. In the new shop we now have 4 phone lines so people can get a hold of us. E-mail? We get about 700 a day. Its impossible to sort them out and get back to every person. We have however made it easier than ever to get a hold of us via phone. 585-226-8226.

With all of that said, If you cant call, Please feel free to PM me your info and I can look into it tomorrow morning.

Again, Sorry for the wait and we are trying to address it the best way possible. Most of us are putting in 120 hour work weeks right now and I'd rather answer your " where are my parts " e-mails with the parts at your door than taking 60 hours a week going through E-mails.

Hard to say without knowing 100% what you need and if its in stock or not but more than likely. We are currently shipping about 100 packages a day and our stock is growing rapidly.

^^^^ This is Truth.

STM has been stand up through my build just as AWD Motorsports, MAP, Buschur, Curt Brown, FP, Spoolinup, and TSCOMP have been. I have ordered from them all. I have often called just for help/tech support. As a community as a whole, us Evo guys have it made. Many other communities would die to have the support, innovation, and product testing/development that we have here.

I can say that I have had some transactions that were not up to my extremely demanding expectations but I realize that this is me being unreasonable. Every time I have doubted one of our many vendors they knock me back into my place by beating me with great customer support and completely fair treatment.

Sh*t happens...... Have a and enjoy life. Building my car has taught me one thing that I have always struggled with....Patience and that waiting will only make the outcome at the end more enjoyable.
