GSC S3's and stock valvesprings?

How terrible is this of an idea? I don't track my car and only make a few drag passes occasionally. I don't rev my car past 7k, 7500 at the absolute most. Looking to get these HKS 272's outta my car and the recommended Kiggly spring/retainer set is pushing me outside my budget. Is there another decent set of springs/retainers that might fit for me? Thanks

Yes it is a terrible idea...Wait till you can fit springs & retainers in your budget.

why do you want s3's for if you only rev to 7k. seems pretty pointless to me. Get some s2's instead, even though they still recommend upgraded springs many people have gotten away with stockers.

the 3's were recommended by my tuner? I was thinking s3's would be better suited for EF3 on e85

I'm on stock 9 turbo with S3's. Very little spool loss. I'm also using MAP ultimate duty beehive springs/titanium retainers. They are good for 12mm lift. Doesn't hurt the pocket either. I'll be switching to an EF4 soon enough.

Do it once and do it right. Buy the right springs. Dropping a valve will ruin your whole engine. Kiggly HP springs are the way to go.

It's a good idea to change out the valve springs.
I have brand new supertech single valve springs and titanium retainers if you're interested

pretty much every online store says and tells you S1 you can use stocks, But S2 and S3 they tell you need to upgrade springs and retainers. They dont do it to make money but to protect your investment.
