I didn't mean torque doesn't matter. I meant I don't see how it matters in a straight race especially if it's a roll race. Just my opinion. I'm assuming he wasn't referring to time attack or auto cross. Lets put it this way, I don't know why you would limit a 6266 to only 500hp but I know it takes very little psi(relative to a red) to get that power. So if this is some roll race, why would the red automatically be a faster car at the same power level versus a far larger turbo that takes less psi to make the same exact power? I'm not trying to be a smart *** I'm actually asking for learning purposes.

The OP needs to state the reason why and with what kind of setup in order to get the best answer.

Fp red is over priced imo compared to what you can get a pte for that'll do the trick just fine as I posted earlier in this thread. That being said

1-fp red or compariable chargers.
2- assuming 2.0 is fully built id say 6266 since that's the charger you're comparing. But if it's built why not make more than 500 lol. A smaller charger on a built motor will run out of breath faster.
3- 6266 and I would go smaller yet if you're only looking for 500.

It honestly all just depends what you want to do. To
Many variables. But on stock motor you're wasting your time on a 6266

Arent there a lot of folks making good power, very good power, with larger pte turbos on stock block while keeping the tq in check?

Yep. Sure are but you sacrifice TQ.

IME I cant stand the way many stock framed turbo fall on their *** in upper RPM, I also hate a 3k rpm power band

Have to find a happy medium for sure. All in what you want. I have a 35r variant in the EVO and would never go back to any stock framed turbo at this point

Here's a stock block Evo VIII with some HKS 272 cams on 93oct at 29psi. Sure the power is decent, but that lag would drive me insane. Not even 200wtq at 4000rpm and peak torque doesn't hit until around 5700rpm.

I wouldnt either. Too expenssive and your sacrificing. Im lookin into a 6266 myself for a fun streeet beast, but my block will get built regardless.

I was looking into the 5858 or 6262 but got the dbb fp red low mileage of an buddy for cheap. Paid 1300 for the turbo, BR ported manifold and exhaust, ets intake and the dump and the DC downpipe. I couldn't pass on that haha.

Also I think I would be happy with the red for now especially on the stock block.

Maybe we just have different opinions on what we like. I guess since I have a literbike Im used to the powerband being shifted to the right and holding strong, adn thats what i like. I dont care much for low end grunt unless i was autocrossing or rally racing..again just my opinion. Thats the beauty of different builds.

Here is the link to my graph. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...9-pte5858.html. Keep in mind it's a completely stock long block. 91 pump fuel at 16psi makes 410whp and on Ms109 with 28psi makes 530whp. Pulls good all the way
