Another air bag recall update
I just made an appointment with Harris Mitsubishi in Everett, WA! There is a $57.50 charge if you have a custom head unit! The charge is the time to remove and reinstall the head unit!
You can remove it yourself to avoid the charge though!

I had mine done at Roseville Mitsubishi (CA). I dropped it off Wednesday and picked it up the next day. (They gave me the option of making an appointment, soonest was next month, or leave it over night).
No extra charges or any problems.

Got mine done yesterday, took 3 hours. No issues to report. I specifically told the dealer not to touch the ECU, and it appears they are pretty used to requests like these. They wrote on the service request form in big letters (DO NOT TOUCH ECU, CAR IS TUNED).
For any of you guys in VA/DC/MD, go to King Mitsubishi in Gaithersburg, MD. They are also mod friendly.

Sounds like a great dealer. Need to make my appointment asap since I can't leave my car overnight at anytime

Did you have aftermarket gauges, stereo, etc? If so, did you pull it yourself or have them do it?
EDIT: So they did it in about 2 hours or so. They said it was one of the simpler changes since I only had aftermarket radio/alarm. Minor gripe: few pieces of O shaped sealers/gaskets? on the floor, some little glue/adhesive in several places. Alarm/radio still works, no problems yet... Will update if I find any other problems but I'm satisfied. They also topped my liquids off no charge. My second time there, no major problems/issues, so not too hesitant to go back there for recalls/misc. Will see!

LoL, I didn't think about the aftermarket radio until I sat down here at Kings right now and was like umm... **** I hope they don't charge me. I also just saw a post about someones viper alarm being ****ed with, and I totally forgot about that too... They've been servicing for 2 hours now so I think its too late to tell them / they haven't said anything about it yet. Will update once I get car back.

I also own a 2004 WRX and received in the mail yesterday this message: The affected vehicles are equipped with a passenger side frontal air bad that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment. Also: Until this repair is performed, do not allow passengers to ride in the front passenger seat.
I haven't received an airbag recall for my 2003 Evo. Does the Evo airbag recall say anything about moisture intrusion? I though the problem was simply too much explosive installed in the inflator.

I was a little hesitant on doing this based off another thread I read about a bad experience during the recall service. After reading through this thread and reading good experiences for the most part, I feel a little more at ease. Especially since I have no gauges (yet) or a viper alarm (yet). Just an aftermarket double din radio.
Has anyone had luck purchasing this on-line? Dealer told me they would not sell it to me, they had to do it. I live in Hawaii and there is no dealer on island. I placed a order through a online dealer, but have not heard back yet, hoping they don't say its a "dealer only"
Just called Peruzzi Mitsubishi in Quakertown, they said I had to take any aftermarket things out of my car and just tie the wires up.
If I didn't take them out they would charge me.
