Is this motor mount attached right?

I had my clutch replaced a little over a month ago and was diagnosing a metal clinking engine noise recently and came across the rear motor mount (not under battery but next to firewall). I get the impression that this is not right. My rear mount sets at a sharp angle instead of coming off perpendicular to the bolt that connects it to the mount attached to the trans. I'm struggling to find pics online to confirm what it should look like and I'm confused as to how a shop could have installed it wrong which would cause this angle. Is this normal or should this mount look like the others and the bolt that runs through it should be perpendicular to the mount bushing....thus the arm that comes off this motor mount points straight down and not at an angle? I am wondering if the mounting bracket was installed upside down which might shift this motor mount off center. This is an 2005 - 5 speed. Anyone willing to take a pic of your rear motor mount and this bracket to confirm this for me?
Thanks!

Seen from top side. Is this bracket upside down?

Is this normal?

I didn't think it was possible, but yes, that mounting bracket is probably upside down. The shop that did the clutch... Do they normally work on evos?

See 19:50 in this video.

Thanks folks. That video confirmed my suspicion. I also went through the 05 service manual and it looks just like the video. That notch I see on the top right should be on the bottom left. Ugh
The only other clutch I had replaced was 10 years ago and I guess that shop could have done this also. I think I will just talk to the owner and see if he will be straight with me about what they removed.

I guess I need to go buy some motor mounts as I don't trust that back one anymore. I haven't replaced mine since owning the car but I only have 95k on it. I read somewhere that the front and rear are the most stressed so should I really replace all 4 or just focus on front and back? I haven't noticed any crazy vibrations, just this metal ticking sound that had me find this mount and "assume" it is related to that. I DO NOT want my car to be loud or vibrate a bunch so I probably shouldn't do aftermarket and just go with OEM. How long are these supposed to last?

OEM side and rear mounts. Get a "soft" polyurethane front roll stop mount. I think torque solutions has 70A durometer bushing.

Glad you've come to a solution. I take it you do not need the pic anymore. Let us know what option you go with and how it feels afterwards.
(I stalled the Torque Solution on the "front/trans side" mount; no complaints so far since July 2021)

No pic needed. Hopefully this month I will have it changed and see how it goes. Bigger issue is I need to get my TC rebuilt but that is a whole different story.

Wow I think I have the same issue. Non-performance trans shop did my clutch and I have a similar sound. Any sound clips or description of when the sound occurs? I've heard of this problem problem before. Idk if I read it whilst searching or in Paul's video.

I would take a look at that bracket/rear motor mount to make sure you don't have the problems I do. I can elaborate more on what to look for if you aren't sure. You should be able to point a flashlight on the mount behind your trans and below the throttle body. The motor mount shouldn't look or feel angled.

I spent a lot of time trying to determine when the sound happened. It sounds like the tap of metal against metal. I would just slightly feel it in my petals and sometimes more so than other times. I would only notice it when coming to a stop or starting up from a stopped position and it did not happen every time. It would sometimes tap once and other times maybe 3 times. It was faint and hard to pinpoint but annoying. I don't have any audio/video of it because it would be really hard to pickup the sound since it is faint and lots of other exhaust and engine sounds in the way.

Ruling out the source:
- Does it only happen during clutch engagement? This was hard to rule out because I am engaging/disengaging when coming to a stop or starting up. I had to change my driving habits to test this. Well before I come to a stop I would put the car in neutral and let the clutch out. This way I am not using the clutch rolling down to a stop. I did still hear the noise so I started to think it wasn't related to the clutch.
- Since it wasn't related to the clutch, I started thinking it might be related to when I am breaking or with the wheel. I thought it was coming from the front driver side.
- I put the car on 4 jack stands and didn't see anything obvious when rotating it by hand. Running the car in place, I didn't hear the noise.

It was at this point I found the motor mount issue and stopped trying to diagnose. Until that mount is fixed, I am not sure if it is just the side of the mount hitting the bracket holding it when under certain load and vibrations. I hope this is the case as I will be fixing the motor mounts when I get my TC rebuilt. Ugh, the TC started whining like mad recently and when draining it I found the oil to be shinny.
