05 clutch install, alternative method, makes it trivial
Just a FYI as I am sure everyone already knows, this is just a reminded....
HAND THREAD your bolts back on carefully, use greese, wd-40 or some type of lube if it is sticky/ hard to thread. I stripped to bolt because I thought I was straight. I habd tightened and appparently went in wrong

That sux man. Is it the bolt itself or the hole that is stripped? Which bolt? Hows the install coming other than that? I don't see how you are doing this with no help. You're a braver man than I. Good luck.
Welp lets just say Im pissed off!! Everything is in, tranny, tcase, subframe....everything just some minor things need plugged in and than I need to add fluid and hook up my induction system. HOWEVER I found out today that its an Extremely GOOD idea to check and make sure the retainer clip in in right before putting everything back in.....I saw this AFTER I was done. I hope to god its in right lol....
I wont get to it until next weekend.......ONTOP of all that I found a tear in one of my grease boots(passenger side), I found a tear in the seal/boot in my left rear caliper piston.
The stripped bolts are hard to explain I will take pictures of them....
i know one is in my Tcase its the case thats stripped, the other couple I will take pics of it.....They were stripped from the last job

If you move the clutch fork it should lock the retainer clip in. Thats the best way to tell if its in right i think. Hope it all works out. I'm amazed you got that tranny in by yourself. Just goes to show what some determination will get you.
lol yeah When I was done I literally couldnt move or pick up my arms HAHA...
By fork, you mean the lever sticking out of the tranny that has the boot around it? the one that moves the TOB?

Sounds good, cause I'm gettin close to needing one. As a mater of fact I'm ordering some clamps & a coupler tonight, picking up some fluids tomorrow, & then the LICP will be all I need to get this thing on the road.
So everything went alright for you in your install? Any problems? This is you first time?
Everthing seems to have gone O.K. Wont know for sure till I bleed the clutch, adjust the pedal, & get it running. This was my first time working on a car like the Evo. I worked on BMW's for about 2 years & did one clutch. It's not the same & I had lifts for those. My buddy is a Mercedes tech that helped me & he has never worked on any thing but American V8's & rear wheel drive Mercedes. It was a little bit of a learning experience, but not too bad. Idid however install my axels on the wrong sides & had to swap them. I t didnt take long to figure that out

Glad to hear you were able to do it without towing it to someone. Some times when doing power steering lines & such on other cars the fluid would get frothy when running it thru the empty system. This is probrobly what happened. It will go away. It just takes a little while for all the tiny bubbles to come up. It will probrobly be fine after sitting a while & topping it off.
Glad I could help. I hate having to pay someone else to do things I think I can do. So which pie ended up working? Sorry by the way. I wouldn't have figured you would have major fitment problems with either pipe not to mention both pipes
someone please help! im having so much trouble removing the steering links from the knuckle. i removed the nut and tried using a mallet to knock the ball joint out of the knuckle and that didn't work. i tried using a ball joint tool to pry the ball joint off of the knuckle all that did was release the grease out of the boot! the ball joint tool that i used has a 3/4 inch gap. what should i do about the released grease and how do i remove the ball joint out of the knuckle?!
