So the Perrin will not fit. I am using a samco intake pipe thats already trimmed about 3/4 inch to fit the filter as it sits. There is only about 4 1/2 inches of space with the Vibrant adapter that is required. The Perrin is a full 7 inches tall. One would think I could just trim the intake pipe a little more but no way will I get 2+ inches without totally relocating the MAF not to mention the connector to the MAF would not reach at that point. OMG filter here I come!! Otherwise the mod to the box was easy and only took about 30min start to finish.

Throw up some pics!

What about cutting the intake pipe shorter or cutting out more of the box to support the filter?

Thanks for the update!

This is my first time posting pics so bear with me if I screw it up. As you can see there's not much room. Could get maybe another inch before I would not be able to connect the MAF sensor.

Pretty good size filter. I apologize for it being sideways.

The OMG speed element filter is at a good price right now so I'm just gonna roll with that. Might give up a pony or two but I much prefer stealth over all out power.

There's no cutting anymore of the box on the drivers side of the box as that's where the box attaches to the support bracket.

Gotcha.

I'm wondering if I can get away with a hacked Perrin intake pipe to make it fit.

Good luck with that. Like I said before you will end up with the MAF too far away from the wiring harness to reach. I just ordered the OMG filter. It's cheap so not much to lose. I'm not much for wanting to hack something too much just to make it work. Not to mention I am kinda getting tired of the oiled filter thing especially when you could pick up another OMG for under 50 every so often.

I'm trying to make it work because the K&N Small (Which is almost the same size as the OMG filter) didn't show fantastic numbers from Kracka's air filter shootout:

Buschur: 378whp/361wtq (old style, no longer available)
Perrin: 376whp/345wtq
Amsoil: 374whp/344wtq
Vibrant: 371whp/351wtq (current style Buschur air filter)
K&N - FIPK: 369whp/355whp (comes with Typhoon intake kit)
Apexi: 367whp/357wtq
K&N - small: 367whp/346wtq (caused more knock than others)

In this shootout alone it was a difference of 11whp/15wtq.
