I ran this setup for a while...I was using the AMS K&N filter with maf adapter...to be honest I don't think any other air filter will fit in there...that K&N filter was pretty small...

I wonder if I can hack the airbox so the filter has enough room to poke out the driver's side.

It just has to not draw attention, that's the ultimate goal.

I would like to see how the Amsoil filter fits

I like the performance of the Perrin, which was why I wanted to run it.

On 91 octane every little bit helps.

Any information on it's filtering and flow compared to others such as Amsoil, Perrin, AEM Dry Flow. Who makes this filter?

Nevermind, looks like this isn't really a permanent type filter: "You can clean them by using compressed air to get the dirt and particles out. It is recommended to replace them after 10k miles or so."

I really wish it was that simple.

The amount of fuel I consume combined with where I live in relation to the stations makes it way too inconvenient.

My build will support E85, so I'll hold out until there are more stations.

Back to the filter discussion it looks to me that you obviously could use the OMG filter from SE but it appears to be much larger than the one from GST. Now if you are just looking to conceal the filter then the SE filter might work for you. My take is that you can still see the filter from the front by the pics that were provided. I would aim to conceal the filter AND most of all get the benefit of isolating it from engine heat as much as possible. The GST filter or one of similar dimensions appears to do this with only having to cut the bottom of the box only. Some posts from 9sec9 and Indyevo I believe have done some research on the effectiveness of isolating the filter as much as possible. Check out 9sec9's website(9sec9.com) and checkout the heated air-block. This will show you how beneficial this approach may be. Just my 22 cents
