i doubt it, the plug is located at the back, kindof what i show below (side view of rear differential lol) F=fill plug, D=drain plug, A=antiroll bar

so if lifted from the back all the fluid will go forth not coming towards the drain...
also it is recommended that the car is ~leveled when you fill it with the new oil.

^see step 1 from the first post. In particular:

"...If you do not know what the rear diff looks like, I highly suggest not doing this yourself..."

It is in the rear of the car, located in a housing, and is there to provide drive power to both wheels. Follow the drive shaft back to where it connects to a housing between the 2 rear wheels.

Seriously guys if you have a hard time changing your oil do not try and do a fluid change on the rear diff, t-case, or tranny.

Bumping this thread. I guess it's a newbie question but do I need to replace the drain/fill gaskets with new ones? I'm planning on changing my rear diff fluid pretty soon.

If they look pretty flattened down like they have been used and torqued down a lot then I wouldnt recommend it. Even so, they can still seal just fine. You can get away with re using them. I personally try to always get a fresh new one on though.
