Agreed! I always remove the 2 17mm bolts with a rachet wrench which makes it much easier. I am pretty sure i put that in the intial writeup.

You just need the info on that one bolt and then your done?

I know the top front 2 bolts are the short ones.

What other information do you need?

Has anyone ever ran into a problem where the transfer case is stuck in the transmission? I have all the bolts out and it's about 2 inches away from the transmission case and I can see there is nothing connecting it. Both of the axles are out. I'm thinking it's just stuck on the c-clip that's on the input shaft but double you tee eph. This thing is just screwing with me.

did you remember to pull the input shaft out of the transmission that goes into the transfercase?

The stub that the passenger side axle slides on to? I just read over the DIY again and realized I didn't do that. I'm having trouble figuring out how to connect my slide hammer to it

I just threaded a bolt & washer into the stub and used them as a leverage point for my crowbar and it popped right out.

u can buy a slide hammer with the right threading that threads right in and yank it out also.. it has a yellow handle its in the tech section on clutch install

or ya tvierira's way works if u can find something to thread in with a bolt.

M10x1.25 if I remember correctly. If not it's M8x1.0

I have an OTC slide hammer kit, I have an adapter that you can put a bolt in and then thread the slide hammer onto it. I just tracked down an 8x1.25 bolt and shaved the head a bit so it fits inside the adapter.

Just to clarify, we're talking about pulling the shaft that connects to the passenger side axle. Also, do I want the t-case bolted up or unbolted? Thanks for the fast replies, I'm actually in the garage right now doing this.

You want the tcase unbolted and we're talking about the driver side shaft. The driver side shaft goes through the transmission and into the transfer case. You do not have to remove the passenger side shaft.
