Now I don't have an evo but I have kamakazi Headers and down pipe trying to get the ses/cel off for Va State Inspection in 2 weeks

I will in a little bit here. don't have much time for my car. got work, school, and a stereo install, an GF and a kid... no time
Okay I'm confused now. After several hundred miles of driving, my SES light just turned itself off today. I think it was in the middle of a drive, but I'm not sure 'cause I started to get used to it. My theory is, I reset the computer wrong. I know you can't just disconnect the battery for a second, because there are caps in the car that hold a charge. So I turn on the lights and try to start the car w/o the battery. This should open some crcuits and drain the charge right?
I saw a post on here about letting the car sit for ten minutes. Perhaps that would have done differently. Either way, the lights off
...hope it doesn't come back.

Did this on mine... Worked for a while... but then the SES light returned...
I then tried using 1 fouler because I thought possibly that the 2nd O2 sensor was not reading ENOUGH... that didn't work...
I'm confused gonna try one last time to make this work, otherwise it's hi-flow cat for me!!!

I saw a post on here about letting the car sit for ten minutes. Perhaps that would have done differently. Either way, the lights off I gassed up three times before she shut off. thats about 700 miles. give it time before you give up. I've been 500 w/o SES light now. I doubt she's coming back.
What happens is that the ECU runs different tests everytime we drive. The cat test, if failed, triggers the SES light. However, after triggering the light, the ECU continues to monitor the situation. When you add the foulers or what not, the ECU sees a change, but keeps the SES light for about 2-3 more test runs to make sure that the problem has indeed been corrected. This explains why ^^ had to drive about 700miles for his to go off - it took that many miles for him to go through enough drive cycles to convince the ECU that the Cat problem was fixed. Assuming he doesn't change anything, it should stay off indefinately
One part you may want to try is the GP Moto Oxygen sensor adaptor. It is basically a pre build fouler method of getting rid of the CEL. Check it out

I lied. when I went to NAPA, I saw that there were two different sizes. I asked for the smaller ones. I went back to buy the other size and found that he actually gave me the larger ones.
So anyways, given what was said about possibly getting too much air, I decided to back it out some more. I've got two large and one small non-fouler. I'm at 400 miles with no problems yet. I guess you just have to play with it to find out what works for you since different mods will give different air flow.
