how to remove floor carpet off Evo

Hey guys and gurus,

Does anyone know how to remove the dead pedal off the front driver's side so that I can remove the floor carpet? I took off the center nut behind its trim panel but still couldn't remove it. There seems to be a circle trim plate near the top but I could not seem to remove it. I looked at the Servicemanual and searched but no dice. Can anyone help? Thanks...

unscrew that black cap with a screw driver then remove it, there should be another bolt inside it or something. I did this just recently.

yeah, pop the plastic piece off, and there's a screw under there. Once that's out...just pull. It's on there pretty good. It will finally let go....

Theres a plastic cover that pops off, it has a screw under it. Also towards the top there is a black circular piece with a slot in it. That is basically a screw. What you do is remove the bolt under the cover then start rotating the top piece counter-clockwise while gently pulling the piece up and it will come off. That top plastic screw needs some pressure to start un-threading.

(just did this 2 nights ago)

Im trying to remove the dead pedal aswell and all I can see to remove is the big circle up top that has a slit.

I removed that, but all it shows is a stud. What else do I remove to get this damn false pedal off?

the plastic circle with a slit unscrews, use a coin in it or a big screw driver.

stick a coin in the slit and turn it counter clockwise.
