Yes, the clear will bring the color up and out, plus you can wetsand the clear down for a slick finish. Since my HVLP needs a rebuild, I'm going to run mine down the street to get them shot with clear. It looks 16336235% than the clear lenses.

This thread is awesome, if I would have seen it earlier I would have gone this route instead of paying 2 bills for the evo7 tails haha. Good job guys

I literally saw this went out bought the paint and did it, Ive been holding off and the pricey Vii tails and now this is the perfect alternative. Now i can spend the money on more power mods.

I will have to post updated pictures, I had "Chadwich" do mine towards the beginning of this year and they still look great! Definitely have faded a little bit but was to be expected with the light coats that are on there.

You can only tell in the sun light anyways and I don't mind it at all. They were a tad dark to begin with so IMO they turned out a bit better.

I'm really debating taking the tint off of my tails and giving this a shot. Lots of good info through the 14 pages in this thread!

I did mine ..you def want a like DuPont clear, the spray paint will stay on only for a little bit but eventually fades from the exhaust fumes. Love the idea though.
