Question Transfer case Replace

So I went to change my transfer today and got everything disconnected and ready to go but for some reason the shaft that connects the transmission to the transfer will not come out I have the bolt that you tread in and a slide hammer. Anybody have any other way i can get it out or know how i can take apart the transfer to get it off thanks help please some one.

Did you drain all the fluids? Also helps if the tcase is still bolted on the tcase so there's no weight on the shaft.

Yeah its a pain. After pulling the engine out while doing a rebuild it finally came off with a help of a pry bar.

With the slide hammer your way better off than I was... just put a little more a## into it.

The bolt I have is a 8Mx1.0 is that the right on or is it the 1.25

THIS...

i realized i didnt have the stuff to do it so i un bolted it and let it rotate down as i pulled the motor/trans/tc all out the top as a whole...

but when i reinstalled it i sat/bungie corded the tc down there then bolted it on and slid the shaft in after..

Okay so I finally got it out yesterday I pulled the diff out of the transfer case and pushed the shaft out the other way thanks everybody for the info it really helped.
