Help with Shift knob removal

Anybody have a suggestion to remove my stock shift knob if it is stripped? Somehow I must have tightened it too much when I last put it on and now it won't unscrew. Piece of plastic threaded crap.

If pulling and turning does nothing, try a hack saw and just cut the thing off.

I would say a pair of vice grips (or two) and some really strong arms....dunno.

may sound really dumb...but maybe a heat gun to soften the plastic. don't old people put a stuck lid under hot water?

my solutions to problems are one of 2 things. hitting them with heavy objects, or burning.

I thought I would bump this back up to the top.

MY shift knob got stuck when I was installing my Kartboy short shifter tonight. I only got it half way on and I could not get it back off... damn thing was stuck. I went to Walmart (only place open at 2am) looking for a tool that might work. I ended up getting a set of Grip Wrenches. I put the bigger one around the shifter knob and it popped right off like nobody's business. They cost me $10.
