for tripods and monopods I highly suggest buying the best you can, giottos is the best and will last a lifetime...I personally use www.feisol.com they are awesome, great bang for the buck but still not as good as the giottos...

Here are a few pics I shot over last summer. They were shot with my old canon 10d and non-IS lens. Since i've got a new 40d with a 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS Lens.

It's 10-22mm bro not 12-22mm =)

I have the same Tripod and it is great!

Please take note that ball head is not so good if you have heavy camera like Nikon D700 and Canon 5D

playing with some lighting. on flash at the back wheel, one on camera flash at the middle of the car and one flash at the side of the front bumper from a 45 degree angle. still should have had the lights higher on the stands, the top of the car is too dark =(

Sorry bro, I just traded the rig with Rexpeed for some CF pieces. As for the cost of the actual rig? Anywhere from $300-$400 to do it yourself or up to over $1500 for a nice rig.

What flash are you using bro? I like it but the background I think is where your problem lies. The picture doesn't look real in a sense that someone could cut out the neon and paste it onto a dark background. Maybe you should try a wall? Say a red brick wall would make the car stand out more?
