I agree... it would be ideal if it came already put together with the EL wtres etc. However if we have detailed instructions on where to get the wires and how to install them, I guess it is not a big deal.

That reverse blue one actually might work for me (even though blue is blingy). I'm getting the apex EL2 gauges and they light up in blue also. Might make a good match.

Anymore information or updates on this project? Anything you can offer would be great...I need something to hold me over until they're available

I was just thinking... can I use the EL wires on the stock gauge cluster? If I want to make it brighter, that is?

Hmm.. I think I've read this whole thread, but I haven't seen any mention of the price of the EL wires (w/inverter). What are they running, roughly?

I've seen $2.10 per foot for the EL Wire, and $10 for an inverter. I'm not sure what type of inverter is needed so it may be lower or higher....I also don't know how many feet would be necessary.

Thanks Failed_Senses for the PM, I've been using elwirecheap for the wires from the start. So far, I've used 7' of wire with good result. But they won't give me any quantity pricing, so I'll try that other place you suggested.

Hi guys, it's been a little while since any updates. A new issue has come up which I'm looking into. The EL wire is bright enough for the gauge faces, but they might not light the needles well enough. This has become more fustrating for me since I was so confident with the EL wires thus far. I'm going to try some LED combinations to see what the results are.

I just don't like to see this get too complicated.

Well, how about letting those of us who don't want EL wires order our gauge panels?

I don't think the combination of EL Wire and LED's would be too complicated in the slightest. I'm going to try and become more familiar with the power issue and what not and perhaps I could offer my $.02 on the issue.

Anyone know where to buy those T1.5 intrument cluster bulbs at a good price? I've only found them online for $10 a pair.

Here are LED versions:

It says wide angle, but I don't know how wide they would be. If you guys can figure out a way to make it really bright, maybe I'll just buy the EL wire/LED kit from you guys and use it on the stock cluster.

The best they have is a 45 degree spread, and that's a 50% intensity at the edges. I'm looking for the regular ones on the stock cluster but with a different color light output.
