ABS delete kit??
Bump for anyone who has done this and daily drives and/or tracks thier car.
My car's been de-ABS'd for over two years. Its a race-only car, but is street legal so its probably seen a bit over 2000 street miles. I re-plumbed the brake lines, have a dual master cyl. setup with a bias adjuster. I still have the ABS brain plugged in, as I need the inputs from the wheel sensors to continue using the ACD system.
As someone said, just remember if you've removed the ABS, be ready for different braking techniques, especially when driving in winter conditions. And, for those with ABS, if you ever feel yourself skidding, something's wrong, so you'll need to revert to non-ABS braking techniquest ASAP. For anyone living or vacationing in Colorado, check out www.winterdrive.com. Once you've taken a class, you can bring your Evo out for track rentals. I teach there on the weekends, so if you come up, be sure to say hi!

I have just done this to my Evo and all it takes is a RS master cylinder and the RS brake lines. The part numbers needed are:
MR493301 LF line $5.81
MR493302 RF line $16.64
4650A045 LR line $9.38
4650A046 RR line $8.98
RS master cylinder with the porp valves. (this is expensive from mitsu so it is best to buy it used.)
The rear brake lines end right under the firewall so it is a easy swap.

I've had the abs kick on maybe three times in the four years I've had my car. The rare occasion it has kicked on, it was just because I was being extremely lazy while driving in the snow and not driving the way I should have been in the first place.
It's on my list of things to remove.

You can get these parts with the master cylinder for under $300.

Another question for the road race/rally guys. I have been looking to do this in the near future for weight savings, but my main question is, do you have a better feel for the brake? Better feel for modulation? Other than the weight savings, what is the benefit?
Anybody seen this thread of a custom master cylinder this guys is building?

Have not called to confirm the part number, but looking at them, I see no differences. Only thing that could be a hang up would be maybe the size of the piston internally.
ABS Part Numbers
Ok so I've been doing some investigation of my own into this
The part number from STM's kit is MR977089
and the ebay ones are all an aftermarket version of PN MR527468 (you can see it listed in some auctions) which is a non ABS master cylinder.
All the lines, and clips cost aprox $80 and if the $50 master cylinder works you have $130 ABS deletion kit.
That is if and only if the MR527468 works in place of it.
So does anyone know the difference between the masters as they are defiantly different part numbers?

I found a website that confirmed my thoughts but I can't member which one. It was crazy. You would look up the RS master and it would be about $100 more than when you looked up the non ABS lancer, but they had the same part number for ordering. That is dumb.
One thought I had is that the non ABS lancer has drums, vs the RS I believe is rear calipers. As the brake gains are different it may require different pressure (not that it justifies the cost) but it would be unique and non interchangeable.
I just planned on doing something like this when I got there...

Obviously much more involved, but then it removes the brake booster, allows F/R balance tuning, removes brake fluid resevior from engine compartment, and reduces weight of pedal assembly.
