So have you done this?

For that matter has anyone used the non abs lancer master cylinder?????

So quick update. I did this switch to the lancer base Master with the adaptor valves and lines all new mitsu parts. I also switch the reservoir for the one my car came with. I fits with no issues looks good, and so far brakes great. I do need to try stopping under different road conditions to see if I get any rear wheel lock scenarios but so far it doesn't appear to.

There are some pics in my thread.

Nice job. 04 evo did not come with ACD did it?

I really would like to do this in the future, but the ABS sends a wheel speed sensor signal to the ACD and i need to figure out all that electronic garbage first

I'm really not sure. I probably should know that before I do things. Too late now.

And here all the P/N's with the RS Master Cylinder ( I just purchased the lancer base instead)

I got the whole kit from STM, took about an hour from start to finish with the intake manifold removed, actually a VERY easy job. Took longer to properly rebleed the brakes since there is so much air in the lines afterwards. Brake pedal feels great, no lock ups yet, roughly eleven #'s lost.

ACD first showed up on US spec Evos in 2005.

You could purchase the wiring harness from an RS model and it will plug & play with any of the other harnesses, bypassing the ABS module, but still sending the wheel speed sensor info into the ACD box. I don't know if you can swap between 05 & 06 harnesses though.

FWIW, my hillclimb car is an 06 and after an engine bay fire I bought a wiring harness that I wasn't told was from an RS, and everything worked out great and I was able to get rid of the ABS wiring jumble.

stm kit is a complete rip off. 400 dollars for parts you can source yourself for about 150.

I don't agree w/ this. I think there are cheaper alternatives (especially now we know the base model works). But the STM kit is all new OEM parts. Even the base model lancer from Mitsubishi is like $360

I'm a big fan of STM they have saved my **** tons of times with great customer support and shipping. That being said I'm always looking for more inexpensive solutions as I'm limited on funds to work on my car with. In this case we found a $150 abs removal kit w/ non oem parts.
