i am not sure if i read it in this thread or another.. but i believe i saw someone mention that the abs light can be turned off via a periphery bit in the rom. i looked through mine and do not see any bit labeled for abs. is there any truth to this?

false. it's a wire you need to ground. no connection to the ecu.

my question is.. what do you do with the rest of the abs connections plug?
let it hang and wobble around?

I believe you need to have it plugged into the abs module so signals will still make their way thru the system...assuming you have an ACD equipped car. If no ACD I can't think of any reason that would be a problem.

Sure, easiest way is to find a wiring harness from an RS model. Otherwise you'll likely need to start splicing some wires so the ACD still gets the sensor signals it needs to function properly.

Gotcha - if you don't have ABS and don't have ACD, I don't see any reason you'd need those wires anymore.

i am in the process of doing this right now..i have an 03 so no ACD. I would like to get rid of the big plug harness so its not just a useless clump of wires hanging
out in the bay. where do all these wires go and would it be possible to remove them easily?

well i just completed the delete with the all of oem parts aside from the master cylinder i bought on Ebay. The MC is not oem Mitsu part. It did fit perfect and i had no noticeable problems. I did re use my resovior because i did not like the lid on the Ebay one..this way i can use my Motive bleeder on the resoviour. Well i bled the lines 3 times..bled them till i went from blue fluid to clear.. then clear back to blue. I tried adjusting the push rod in the brake booster on the MC side of it.. i tried adjusting the rod on the inside of the car at the pedal. Nothing. the car hardly brakes.. feels like there is no pressure at all in the system. pedal goes right to floor pretty much and hardly has any stopping power at all.

I am thinking its something with the MC. just a word of caution to anyone doing this, be careful and use OEM parts so you dont have to take a chance on having a disaster

Good chance you just have air caught in the master cylinder/first bend of the brake line and you need to "bench bleed" the master.

Just bleed the system by cracking open the fitting on the master cylinder instead of the brake calipers. You have to push the pedal down slowly and I prefer to tighten the fitting while fluid is still coming out before the pedal reaches the floor.

I did this today 3 times. It went well and i can confirm there is no air in the master. However my brake pedal is still extremely soft and goes almost to the floor. It does brake while driving, just that the pedal is almost on the floor when stopping hard. I used the Ebay master that was listed in this thread and i am wondering if its possibly the master is just not right...? could that be possible

has anyone removed the big harness for the module...I am sick of mine just hanging in the bay. looks terrible. where do these wires go and can they be removed along with their source? or are they tied into the ecu or something?

TIA
