Which lowering springs are softer?

I currently have the Tanabe springs on my car and the ride is much more stiff and bouncy. I'm curious if the Tein S Tech springs are softer since I'm looking for a more comfortable ride.

From what Ive seen Teins usually have pretty stiff rides and low drops compared to other springs actually. I havent seen a lot of numbers on evo springs yet but on the wrx the Tein stechs have the highest rates I can think of, compared to eibach, rnr or the sti springs. I know this doesnt apply to the evo but it might give you an idea of your options. DROPS
Tein - (Front: -2.0 in; Rear: -0.7 in)
RSR - (Front: -1.8 in; Rear: -1.2 in)
Eibach (Front: -1.3 in; Rear: -1.0 in)
STI - (Front: -1.0 in; Rear: -1.0 in) Spring Rates
Tein - (Front: 218 lbs/in; Rear: 157 lbs/in)
RSR - (Front: 216 lbs/in; Rear: 177 lbs/in)
STI - (Front: 200 lbs/in; Rear: 185 lbs/in)
Eibach - (Front: 171 lbs/in; Rear: 160 lbs/in)
Once again, this is for a WRX and not an EVO but it might give you an idea of where to look. I have eibachs on my dsm and like them a lot but make sure you can adjust your camber after you lower your car or else you'll be buying new tires every few months.

kg/mm SuperSport springs are pretty soft and have had a similar if not superior ride to stock, in my experience.

I have the S techs, and they are IMHO NOT softer than stock. In fact, I've never experienced a lowering spring that softens a ride, period... especially one that lowers a vehicle 2"! That is extremely rare as far as I concerned... if not darn near nonexistent. It can generally be said that performance springs usually stiffen a ride approx 10-20%... the S techs being no different. Is it because there is less room for suspension travel? I will say this though... the S techs DO NOT STIFFEN the ride much over stock. In other words, it is NOT a night & day difference like with a few other 'brand' springs on market. If I am wrong in reference to the Tein's making the evo softer... then GREAT because I did not want my car to be any stiffer than stock, mainly because my evo is an everyday driver.

Since my Yoko Advans wore out, a picked up a set of Toyo Proxes T1 S's. Now my Tein springs feel as if they have softened up a bit - closer to the way the stock spring felt . Most likely, this is due to MUCH deeper tread and cushion on the T1S's . The Advans, although a top notch performer, are not exactly comfortable riding tires.

At any rate, if the Tanabes are too stiff, then try some coilovers if you have the cash to spend. Coilovers give u much more flexibility to work with - you can basically tighten up or losen your suspension, in addition to setting your vehicle at the 'perfect' ride height. Springs by themsleves are basically a quick and inexpensive solution for those of us who don't want to spend the $ on adjustable suspension. In other words, you will probably run into the same problem with just about any 'brand' of spring. Advice: go buy some Tein Flex coilovers and u be good to go. Good luck mon!

I bought them at Les Schwab, they were $215+tax a piece for the 235/40/17's.

The 19's (235/35/19)are $280, but was with a disscount, I know the manager pretty good there. I think the 19's are over 300 something normally.
