Clunking front end noise??
Mine is clunking, i just checked it out and its the Strut. Also to re-leave the clunking, adjust the strut bolt a half turn to allow the bearings to rotate alittle easier.
Can check by raising whatever side of the car, and push/pull on the tire to see/hear where the noise comes from.

Now i think i have a blown strut. Lasted 98k miles. time to upgrade anyways.
Good luck
I get the same exact noise as everyone else. I noticed it maybe a day or two after my alignment. At first it wasn't bad and I didn't think anything of it but lately it's been getting louder and more consistent. I was thinking it might be the front passenger LCA but now I think I'll check the strut too.
Just to add to this monster thread I have a IX SE with MR bilsteins and Swift sport springs. At less than 30 mph turns there is a clicking/clunck sound. I'm going to try the suggestions given and report of any success. My hunch is the spring is binding a bit like some have suggested.
Yeah i just picked up a 05 evo rs, didnt notice it when checking out the car and test driving it. But when making a sharp right or left turn and hitting a bump i hear the same clunking noise from the passenger front. I plan on getting a allignment and having them check it out, hopefully they will figure it out.
Same problem here at 110K miles. Was on and off over the last few years but got very much worse recently. Replaced the upper strut bearing and the noise was MUCH reduced and eventually went away completely (after a couple of weeks). Now it can only be heard on sharp turns went going over bumps. It also seems to come back louder and take time to go away after the car has been jacked up. Suggest everyone try the strut bearings first and then the struts if the bearings don't quiet it.
oh mannnnnnn.......... sigh......sigh.......sigh......................... ......
ok, i have an evo 8 with whiteline balljoints, whiteline swaybar end links, energysuspension master bushing kit installed along with my fairly (brand new) D2 racing coilovers. checked everything on the front end to check where the noise was coming from, no luck.
whenever im taking a turn under certain speed(<30mph) and hit a bump at the same time(taxachusetts roads...arrrrggggg), i hear this fking clunking noise. also when im traveling <40mph, and throw my gear into neutral and come to a complete stop, i hear this banging noise.
i have fairly all brand new parts down on my car, so it cant be the damn strut mounts, nor i have a 3 inch downpipe, nor it cant be the swaybar links.
this occured after my clutch install from a shop, im thinking maybe the mechanic over there left something loose? someone help me out for christ's sake.

Our cars have offset bolts that connect our steering knuckle to the struts. If you turn them in one orientation it will give you I believe 1^ camber, and if you turn it 180 degrees it will give you 2^ camber. My thought is that if the bolt is not orientated correctly, then there will be slack in the connection between the knuckle and strut.
If the shop dropped your front subframe for the clutch install, I'd check all of the subframe components, including the FSB. Make sure all of the bolts are present and properly torqued.
