Exclamation Suspension rough with cold. Suggestions/help

03 evo 91k on body. Bilstein struts and gt works springs (unknown mileage) lowered about 3/4" with the cold my entire suspension is a bit noiser and more rough (everything hits hard even at low speeds) specifically the front driver's side where a hit a manhole cover on an umpaved road and had an instant flat (tire remained intact small leak near lip) but all relative to the temperature. Once the temps are below the 20s things are really bad. After a 30 min drive however (even in cold weather) things began to return to normal. Im leaning toward struts going bad seeing as the fluid relates to the temps. Any suggestions or tips would be nice, thanks

Drove the car today, temps 40s-50s things were a bit inconsistent in terms of bump reaction. A few seemed minscule or didnt appear to be there and were awful

Like any other fluid, shock oil thickens and doesn't flow as well as it gets colder. This effectively makes your shocks stiffer. Bushings also get harder. What you're experiencing is perfectly normal.

Video i took of it hiting a timy bump ive hit numerous times, never had anything that serious. Even some transitions from asphalt to bridge can be equally as bad

The fact that 30 minutes of driving and things started to return to normal tells me that you're experience normal physics of hot and cold shock oil.

Spoke to the previous owner, he said the bilsteins are valved for spring. Supposedly the rates of the springs are supposed to be paired with the dampening of bilstein hd's

I had a KYB strut on my car do the same thing - get extremely stiff in the cold. Called KYB and they said it was broken. So I bought another off a member here - actually all four corners with springs - but I digress. Problem solved. Maybe Bilsteins are the same.

well the front driver's side is much worse than the rest (which have all become a bit worse). Also the struts are valved specifically for the spring rates so it may be a pain to properly replace a single strut. My current choices are between going back to complete stock and adjusting it to my preferences from there (bought the car with the bilsteins and worx springs) or a used set of d2 coilovers

Why not buy new bilstein hd struts? The springs work well with those struts too. Also ride quality would be better with Bilsteins then the d2 coilovers
