Did I just screw myself?...
Sorry, so just to clarify...a new harness for 2011+ model years will make a navigation unit for 2008-2010 work w/ bluetooth, USB, FUSE, etc? Also, I might have missed it while reading through the posts , but can you list the part number of the harness required?
I don't think a 2008-10 navi will work with FUSE even with the 2011+ harness. My situation is that I brought the 2011 navi but 08-10 install kit which comes with the older harness. I already have FUSE in my GSR cuz they are standard now. So with the correct harness, my FUSE USB and Bluetooth works instantly, and I had the dealer to activate the CAN box prior, so all the MPG, temp gauge, and speed recording functions all work now.
FUSE is not available on 08-10 Evo; they have bluetooth and USB but I think it is a different unit, not FUSE. If you have 2011+ Evo, I would urge you to get the 2011+ navi cuz it has free live traffic now, which is quite accurate. Just make sure you have the correct install kit.
I concluded that only thing that is different between 08-10 & 11+, in the install kit is the harness. Since I had the dealer to activate my ECU to communicate with the navi using the older install kit, and everything works now. (BTW, dealer didn't charge me the $80 activation fee cuz they feel that it didn't activate the navi
