has anyone worked out a way to read SMS' off your phone on this device?

there are apps like MightyText and MySMS but you cant even install the app because it says its not compatible with the device.

I tried tablet talk, but I cant seem to get it to connect between my phone and the headunit. When trying bluetooth, it keeps getting stuck in "turning bluetooth on" even though my phone is already connected to the unit with bluetooth.

 

Have you tried tablet talk?

 

Does anyone know if it works with the USB port located in the glove box?

 

It comes with 2 long USB ports that I ran into the glove box

 

The USB port in the glovebox is a proprietary plug that's part of the harness, not a simple USB extension cable.

 

Downloaded movie to flash drive and it says on unit cannot play. Any way for it to work

 

To piggyback on this question (since i need to play movies/music videos.) If saving to a flash drive doesn't work would saving to microSD work and inserting it into the the slot in the face of the unit?

 

I bought the one specifically for the 14-15 RF and am still getting some static? Any advice?

My android 10.2 radio won't let me connect my steering wheel controllers with radio. I bout the axxess interface for my 2014 evo to connect the RF system. Also had the same problem you had with the on and off and did what said to do was to disconnect the BT plug but now I can't connect my steering wheel can you help??

what format is the video file?

try downloading a different video player like VLC.

otherwise you might have to convert the video to a different file type which is compatible.


BTW, regarding my SMS query, i found that both SyncSMS and Pushbullet work, however they both seem to be a bit temperamental and not always popping up with a notification when you receive a new sms. will do some more experimenting with them.

 

I use the .mp4 format, and they work well. Inuse youtubedownloader to get the music videos.

 

Im interested in purchasing a new radio for my 2011 Evo X with RF I have the non touchscreen oem radio and I want to get a touchscreen.

So my question is should I get an OEM Touchscreen Radio with Nav from someone for 350 ?
Or
Should I get this Android unit because the android unit looks so much better and has much more features. But ive seen people having problems with sound cutting out or just crashing can someone with the head unit weigh in on that .
Also ive read you have to use the bluetooth for music you have to use a personal hotspot from your phone is this true? Ok last question how long does bluetooth take to connect from startup ?
