Yeah, but I think the X cable will be out sooner then the VIII cable, wont it? I heard that took some time as well-when you have the only open source cable out there....they can break a couple more and I'd still buy it.

 

One cable (OpenPort 2.0) will work with all currently supported Evos and Evo Xs. The OpenPort 2.0 cable is already working with pre-Evo Xs. I've used it to read and write to my ECU several times now. Its mostly the software (ECUFlash) that's holding things up for the Evo X. It doesn't have the necessary code in it yet to read an Evo X ECU.

can i use this to store my stock "tune" on my computer and flash in a new tune? and swap back to stoc for any reason?

I'm about to rewire the whole damn car and put a throttlebody cable on it.

 

This is making me more and more prone to get a custom EcuTek tune next time one of the big shops is in the area...
