Is it a Cobb intake??? Because i was told that soon they will have downloadable maps for Cobb aftermarket parts because they can test the parameters of their parts. But brands have different parameters than one another so a custom tune would be needed if its not a Cobb part

Unfortunately not its a AGP CAI. I thought about getting the Cobb back when i was shopping for intakes but they were producing mods sooo slow for the X once they got the GTR.

yea i'm going to get an AP and 3 custom maps at the end of the month and my tuner said that he's not even sure if he can get good gains out of my intake so hes gonna cut me a deal on a cobb intake and downpipe becuase he already knows the parameters of those parts and said the gains will be well worth my money.... But i'm sure if he spent a few hours he could figure out my intake.

Sounds like he's trying to sell you more stuff. Find another tuner.

If its @ Surgeline tuning (the only cobb evo tuner i know in oregon)
He has nothing to worry about, and couldn't find a BETTER tuner in the PNW

No my tuner isn't just trying to sell me more stuff. Tim Baily is a well respected tuner on the west coast.... He suggested these as an option to help me reach my goals of my custom tune. and he is cutting me a good deal so i dont feel that i am being ripped off in the least

Dont get offended, but really? How many people have gotten COBB protune with the AGP intake? And already is not sure if he can get good results?

Is up to you, but whatever you decide good luck.

ok, i have not read this thread, but i remember them building a new facility in plano, texas i believe?

if i was to drive up there, can i get a custom tune for my car. and would that still cost $695, or would it cost more? i also have 2 other buddies that want to go up and get tuned at the same time.

The AGP Intake woks great - no problems

It does - however, require extensive and time consuming re-calibration adjustment

Maybe what the tuner is saying is that it would be more cost effective and easier to use the Cobb Intake for which the tuner has good maps ?

Sometimes things get confused when they are repeated by 3rd parties

When it comes to custom tuning, I will tune any intake out there - its all tuning

^Im headed down to the shop in Plano the 12th of this month to get a tune. You have to pay for the AP plus the time for a custom tune Im pretty sure.. If you can wait till after the 12th I can tell you for sure though.

The Cobb Plano facility is already open and it’s nice.
RallySport Direct was running a 10% discount with free shipping (and no tax). Makes for a compelling reason to order from them, see the first post.

In most cases of which I am aware the custom tuning is an additional charge on top of the AP purchase.

Hi Al,

I bought the AP from you on Monday (with the promotion offer that you'll be giving me an additional map for my car based on AEM CAI and aftermarket exhaust).

But when the AP arrived, it didn't have any additional map at all. What gives?

I bought it on Dec 1 (Monday) which still falls in the promotional period.
