Not sure, I will post up my results from switching to the 3-port in a few weeks and let you guys know if I picked up any more psi on the top end.

Dave

Here is my boost as of right now which is pretty typical for the stock turbo.

Are you gonna run the ebcs without the pill or with it?

With the pill. The 3-port does not allow you to run more boost, it simply gives you better control of it since you aren't using a bleed type solenoid anymore.

Perrin's site actually had some good info on boost control that I read over when I got there 3-port.

Linky:

http://www.perrinperformance.com/pages/show/113

edit: technically by using the 3-port you can run more boost (should still use the pill, and I think to get the boost level's people are running, 25psi ish you will need it, at least I am going to)but that isn't really the 3-port's main focus. The main focus is a better boost curve and a side effect of this is a little more top end psi usually.

So I pretty much run the ebcs like a mbc and disconnect the stock lines with the pill? Should I be safe enough to drive it to the tuner as long as I keep it off boost?

One more question for you... from what i can tell the way the Perrin looks, it looks a tad different from the Gruppe-S/Prodrive.

yeah but you non-perrin one has 3 lines attached to it... perrin only 2?

edit: ok the little light switch finally turned on in my head.

i get 2 vacuum lines from like autozone, etc (unless it comes with it). disconnect the oem hoses and ebcs. connect the perrin ebcs into the oem location and run the 2 lines, port 1 to wga, and port 3 to turbo. i leave port 2 alone

Make sure you do not T off the lines.

1 nipple. Boost Source
1 nipple. Waste Gate
1 nipple. VTA

Done.

Do not put any pills or anything into lines. Try to use a size as close to OEM size.

Remember a large diameter line that is long will require air to travel longer and will requiremore to fill.

Try to keep the lines as short as possible without causing kinks, etc...
