Slow mivec

Tephra originally brought this up in his knock thread and I finally got around to logging my car. My actual mivec settings and target mivec settings are never the same. I'm running mobil 1 0-40w oil. Any thoughts? Has anyone else noticed this?

I havn't looked at your log - but:

intake mivec seems to be ok, i mean it might deviate from map target by 1* or so, but thats pretty minimal..

exhaust mivec is a different story, it will never reach the target at high loads, it seem to almost get there at higher rpm's but not really..

this isn't soo bad, its the spool that really kills it - you really need to taper quickly in the 140-180load so that the exhaust mivec cam has a chance at 240load...

who knows the technical reason - oil pumping pressure/exhaust pressure pushing cam/something else...

Could you share the XML from your Data.xml file that has the values for logging actual mivec for USDM (52680018)? I could try to do some logging on my completely stock car later this week. Thanks!

I think the XML should be the same as 52680018
