doesn't the gauge plug into the serial chain?

or does it use one of the analog outputs?

it has it's own set of wires, but hooks to the brown or yellow wire... I don't remember which.

I saw something someone had posted on a different car site about how the LC-1 doesn't like ports that are 5 or above... I just don't know which port is which lol.

Plug it into different usb ports and see what number Windows assigns it.

nope, no go on the flashing when I try to start the LMprogrammer... I just tried another port which was com 6, so i'm going to as Golden said, try a few others.

I know the cable is working because the computer is picking it up... the car just isn't connecting... so at least it's not a cable issue... that I know of anyway.

Not as far as I know? I looked around at all sorts of stuff that I had before I bought the cable to make sure I wasn't going to have one.

anyone close by to you that can lend you a cable?

If LMProgrammer/LogWorks doesn't connect at all (and the light doesn't flash) I would be inclined to say the USB->Serial cable is looking dodgey

yeah, I mean I don't really know what to do about it though... aside from going to my local electronics store to see if it will work... and they want 38.00 for that cable... I paid 3 or 4 on ebay... which is maybe why it doesn't work.. I don't know wtf to do.

Check fuse #12 (red, 7.5A), you might have blown it when you were fooling around in there. I did the same thing and got the airbag code, as well as ASC service, etc... Are you able to get to the O2 sensor, ie dropping the TP/HFC? If so, drop it and turn the car to on (not cranked) and put your hand near (not on) the sensor. If it warms up you'll know it is wired correctly.

hmmm, that might be the one I used as the power source... it was a 7.5 amp fuse for the reverse lights... i'll check it though.
