When WGDC #1A, #1B, and 2 maps are used?

Hi, All.

I have 2 questions about 2008+ Evo X boost maps.

First, both Reactive & Passive Solenoid Base WGDC has 3 maps, #1A, #1B, and 2. I've been heard that #1A is for SST, #1B is for 5MT. Is this right?

Second, for which gear WGDC #1A, #1B, and 2 be used? Is the 'Low Gear Range' for 1st and 2nd?

Thanks,

1A is high gear range.
2 is low gear range.
I forget what 1B is for. (May be warmup high gear range)

The low gear / high gear is determined by your RPM Crossover value set as RPM/Speed.

The stock value of 145 puts swap point between 1st and 2nd gear. Some change it to 75, which puts you between 3rd and 4th.

1b is used in higher altitudes usually for a different barometric pressure. I.E. Colorado.

~102 = 1-2nd gear = low gear map
~75 = 1-3rd gear = low gear map

Thanks to you Golden and Clipse3GT, I could understand how the high gear range and low gear range is separated.

Clipse3GT, do you know what condition switches between #1A and #1B?

In addition, I've just found the table names at Cobb Access Tuner site:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=4912

>Target Boost (Load) Table A x x
>Target Boost (Load) Table B WOT x x
>Target Boost (Load) Table C x x

I guess 'Table B WOT' means that #1a is used under condition of half throttle, #1b is used at WOT.
I don't know which is right. I'm confused.

I am not sure that 1B is used for high altitude...

AFAIK (and i could be wrong) 1B is for some sort of error condition...

regardless they are set the same from the factory, and I have ALWAYS seen them set the same... And TephraXMOD's overwrites 1B with 1A anyways (for both normal and altmaps)...

set them the same

Hmmm...Maybe when and how #1b is used is not clear yet.

>set them the same

Hi guys, any update about this?
I'm tuning boost right now: for now I set maps #1A and #1B the same, but it would be interesting to undestand when map #1B is used.

Thanks
Stefano
