So you dont think the GT3076R with supporting mods including bigger cams and ecu flash cant do 500whp?

I think it'd be close with race gas. I don't think there's any chance on pump gas. Regardless, that's really at the limit of the 3076R. The GT35 is the better option for that power level.

It's probably still possible with the right amount of mods, but to easily reach those HP levels you would have to give up some response and spool for the higher flow and top end of the 35R. I think low 400 whp on a low reading Dyno like Buschur's which is closer to 440-450 whp on a higher reading dyno is going to be the norm. Throw in cams, intake manifold, headwork, high boost and race gas it should be possible to exceed 500 whp on a higher reading dyno but not easy to do.

Honestly once you are exceeding those power levels you really need a cage and other safety mods if you plan on running it at the track. Also the block is going to be stressed to the limits and your tune will have to be perfect running that much horsepower through the engine.

Even if it produces 10% more power than the Red or Dom 2 (which are similar in size), it would still be only in the mid 400 whp range. I'm looking into buying this turbo after I see some results. Hoping on around 430-460whp from it on pump.

35R might be the better way to go if 500 whp is your goal. There is still not a whole lot that is known about that power level on the X yet though. I would wait until more products/results are available to support that kind of goal.

For the guys with this turbo getting tuned, maybe you could start a new thread since this thread has gone over 20 pages now?

Either myself or Bryan at GST will be starting a new thread in the Tuning section (hopefully tonight).

The car is under the knife now and we're scheduled to tune it at 7pm PST.

Stay tuned...

New turbo, sure they are going to take their time tuning it safely. Rather have safe, accurate results than just a quick tune because everyone is has been waiting so long.

On the other forum, they came on and said they ran into an issue with the car. Didnt say what it was, but they're not even able to look over the car until after the holiday weekend :-( so no results til next week at least
